Why does Almunia seem to thinks he is Arsenal's Spokesperson

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I would have green and kirkland infront of almunia. Almunia has proved nothing. I can remember almunia having one great game for us, away to united in CL and we lost.

Can you remember a game that almunia won us?

On the basis that he is unlikely to score us a goal then no....what a crime. I take it we're all hoping that Fabianski will be installed as 1st choice.

It will be especially interesting this year to see if he can extend his glittering run for being solely responsible for 3 domestic cup exits in a row. Suggestions for a GK we can buy who is better than Almunia within the club's budget which I reckon is a maximum of £5m (for a keeper) ?

To all those thinking about Robert Green - go and lay down in a dark room for a while

The only reason the interview is out there at the moment is because of the clubs support of GOSH. To be fair to Almunia, he and the free-speaking Walcott pretty much make up the small group of players at the club who are prepared to give these things the time of day, beyond their contractual obligations obviously.

I think Almunia, more than most, should be greatfull to Arsene for the faith he has shown in him and just keep quiet.

Arsene has shown immense faith in him, bearing in mind his previous littany of costy howlers but he has come through it and become an adequate keeper, although to be a world-class one, he certainly will have to improve certain aspects of his game.

Look if almunia was a world glass gk he would be playing for spain as no 1 or at least making the bench and not hoping that he gets called up for the england squad. As someone else says hes adequate but not a world glass gk.
