I got all worked up for that? ffs FC Twente gave us more of a scare than this pile of shit. So much for the 12th man.

In general I would normally agree with you. But tonight, they did well.

After the first 2 games the 2 that are really standing out for me are TV and Song. Both of them have been excellent in areas that I was really worried about. Consistency is obviously the key but things are looking extremely promising.

Have to agree 100% with Number 5 and aw's comments -

why not take off cesc in the last 20mins ? The job was done, he had an immaculate game and showed how important he is to us but when we could have rested him we didnt and it is all the more puzzling when you consider that he was carrying an injury into the game :?

This new system does not suit our front men. End. Of. Story. We can come on here and bleat about how woeful they were individually but the simple fact is that the system does not suit them and it showed tonight and it showed at everton :(

Yet again though we are back to talking about injuries and eduardo in the same sentence

for me this is better than everton

why? because everyone knows that when we play to our best we can rip teams apart

but when we aint at 100 percent can we be solid and organised and get a win
recently no, but tonight, excellent, solid, kept the ball well, got ahead and wee never in any danger

thought it worked well and wenger will use this a lot away from home. when we come across a better team it might not work but then again it might but you cant argue with 6-1 and 2-0 victories away from home

Lets be honest great result but not a good performance.Celtic were worse than poor.Disappointed again with RVP as the lone striker and Bendtner stuck out on the wing.

The Eduardo injury must make Wenger buy a striker as we have another 20m from getting through to the CL group stage plus the Citeh money.

NO Huntelaar is at Milan.

And relax. We played well tonight.

We completely dominated the game from the word go and, although we got 2 lucky goals, never looked threatened.

Can't really complain after a night like tonight

What impressed me about tonight was not going forward, as we were not at our best, but it was when we did not have the ball.

Like saturday showed i do not believe scoring goals has been our problem it has been the defensive side of the game, for a couple of seasons now.

The ability to hold onto leads, and not give the opposition a sniff of a chance, when we are ahead. Two games now we have looked good at the back and the other team, have not been creating chances against us

We hunted in packs to get the ball back and were solid defensively. Vermaelen was impressive again and really looks like a defender who takes no shit, attacks the ball well and has good recovery pace, and dealt with sameras who isnt the smallest center forward very well.

Some may question the 4-3-3 system but i think so far it is working well and i do not believe wenger will set the team up the same way at home, when teams play everyone behind the ball, we will need two forwards up against the center backs.

But away from home it allows us to have a better shape, be harder to break down and keep the ball better.

They were two lucky goals but in a match of such importance i couldnt care less and it is the result that matters, and as we rarely do we have won without playing at our best.

hopefully eduardos injury is not to serious and wenger did not want to take a gamble, as he will need to make changes at the weekend

Tonight, with the exception of one really dangerous break when tv made an outstanding recovery to block brown, we were never really in danger. We controlled the midfield and looked solid at the back so from that point of view you can def say that the system suited the team. However lets be honest here and admit that we scored a freakish 1st goal and an og from a dangerous cross but what did we really create ? It is great that we finally got some overdue good luck for a change but it does not disguise the fact that we were largely toothless up front and for the 2nd game in a row arshavin, rvp and bedtner were nowhere near threatening. I would suggest that this system is very dependent on scoring the 1st goal and if we concede first in a game then we may struggle with the system
