I agree with RTP scoring and creating chance has never really been a problem, getting the ball back, tracking runners, pressing earlyer higher up the pitch and genrally creating pressure on the other team was what we missed out on last season.

In regards to the 4-3-3 formation i find it hard to question it at the moment with 2 away wins at hard places to go and get a result. I think the system suits Song alot better allowing him to stay closer to the half-way line and break play down alot better.

My only gripe with 2nite is why did Fabregas have to play 90mins after the Everton game espeicaly with a tight hammy???? :banghead: I cant see him playing much of a part in the Pompey game.

The traveling fans did us proud lots of niose and support well done !!! :barscarf: :barscarf:
Big man, you asked a few questions there and I'm sure you know the answer deep down to most of them.

Arsenal have a relatively small squad. In terms of the players with real or partial experience. We cannot forever each game harangue the opposition chasing them down and play the beautiful stuff at the same time. Something must give. So far it's going to be the good stuff at the top from what I've seen. But equally the players nutting it around the pitch are going to get creamed playing 3 times a week. No way it can keep up. Cesc stayed ojn the pitch as 2-0 Vs 20 Million is an easy decision.

So with 13 or so days to go, no matter the form, every sign points towards re-enforcements needed. Or else come February we are going run the fuck out of steam.
Number 5, completly agree!!

My point was more aimed at when we go away to places like this sometimes maybe scarficing the lovely football for a abit of running, tracking and pressing the ball maybe worth it just to get the result and go home with the job pretty much done, not saying we have to do it every game and TBH we probaly wont need to.

Not playing our best but still getting a result is what champions are made of, i still think cesc could have been pulled off with 15/10 mins to go just so he can rest a tight hamstring 2 games into whats going to be a long season. I think wenger will ring some changes for the Pompey game anyway.

Plus if you read most of my other post's i have been crying out for re-enforments!!

Unbelievable the number of people (not fans) who are so negative to the team.

Does my head in reading some of the shit posts on here.

As for Augie, you may always seem impressed with something that goes against Arsenal.

So you pick out a player from Celtic to praise, what complete bollox.

Hello mate,

Need an asprin?

You fucking love it! Or else you wouldn't log in to read it all. There is a fine line between being a fan and owt else. For instance, from minute 0 until minute 90 the Arsenal team had my whole support tonight. When that final whistle went, knowing I have more sense than Hansen, Redknapp or Hoddle I chose to come on here and air my views about the team.

That's about it, come 3pm Saturday every mother fucker on here will be cheering the team on no matter what we've said in the intermitting days. If you ever catch an Online Gooner slagging the team off during game time, I'll help you punch them out. And I'm a big fuck. Well, gut wise, but I'd have sex like no-ones business.

jaggy - Exactly, half the muppets acctually just want to moan, pure and simple.

Decent away performance tonight against a team that hardly threatened let alone put a few passes together and yet we have a poster picking out a Celtic player.

You couldn't make some of this rubbish up.

eeesssshhh. Well for one we are Arsenal.

We generally play well and create plenty of chances.

Our forward line resembles a group of team mates who generally are aware of each others presence on the pitch.

Other than that, no problem, no problem at all.

good game, i think our defence is finally finding it's way. i must say, since campbell-touré on the invincibles i don't remember us having a sturdy defence like these two games. gallas-vermaelen with song in front of them and clichy-sagna on their side is quite something.
and i believe we did create chances, rvp's finishing was very poor but in another day he could have easily scored a couple of goals from the chances he had. and i'm sure eduardo would've scored them all.

if we give up on that system, and go back to the 4-4-2, song will have only fabregas by his side, and not fabregas-denilson in front of him, which is a lot different, and so he would probably struggle to keep his brilliant form of now. he was born to sit in front of the defence, i'm loving it. denilson has song behind him for cover and the greates central midfielder in the world by his side, it's not a position he would be in if we, again, played 4-4-2. i believe not much tweaking is needed to make rvp, aa and nic work a little better than today.

anyway, nice to see some optimism from guys like spudmasher, you'll all probably be agreeing with me about the treble in a couple of months

EC3, man you need to check your bad self.

Augie would never call you up on this, he's a good guy with a way better principal than I when it comes to beefs.

You have no business trying to question a guy who flies in to see this forum's beer swilling idiots, and monkey goal keeper, lose to Sunderland. Then heads off to The Grove to watch Sunderland nearly scrape a result. That kind of guy don't come all that way often for nothing. And you, the kind of idiot to pop in and out here really don't deserve to be listened to but fuck it, I've had a drink tonight. You ain't made no friends I'm sure. Come back again, I love a bit of controversy, but replace the pea inside your brain for at least a chicken mcnugget eh?

Good win, fluke goal SO_WHAT about time we had a bit luck.Thought celtic would have been better but didn't really give us any trouble ,we passed the ball well(some were wayward)good movement but let some chances go thou.

Its only the 2nd competitive game of the season so its early days yet but the 4-3-3 seems to be working but as the season goes on and with our small squad compared to others wenger needs to bolster the team to cover injuries especially defensive side as if we have a start like 2007/08 it could cost us.

Pompey on sat then celtic, manure and SHITTY -hope greedywhore breaks his leg against us-good 4 games and should see how we going by then.

I didn't think we played our best today, but hey you don't always have to play your best and we got away with it playing an awful team. It will be interesting as said before if we play the 4-3-3 at home and the real test with our defense will be when we have our road trip up in manchester. That's two weeks to sort out our players up front and get shit together, hopefully we can make the most out of it and kick some ass!

Two games....eight goals! Get in! :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Cowboy, I gaurantee, injury free we will line up man for man against United as we did against Celtic. Any cohesion will have to come from midfield.

As the Boys found out last year, you can keep looking for TO but when push comes to shove Diaby better not be running between the posts. 8)

Thought we coasted through the game even though we had more of the ball we did not create too much in way of clear cut chances.

The real test won't come saturday it will come aginst manure and shitty if we get out of them 2 with 4 points then we can say we have a good enough squad and we have no need to add to it.

celtic fans very complimentary

http://kerrydalestreet.co.uk/topic/8177495/2/
most of them seem impressed by our travelling support, though i wonder if they would react differently if they discovered that the 'fire drill' song was originally ridiculing our own 'fans' for leaving early...
