there's just a big difference in experience
if you support your local club, have walked to the ground on saturday your whole life - then its part of your whole identity

anyone who says they don't care who owns the club either isn't actally a real fan
or simply doesn't understand the situation

So now you have to have actually lived within walking distance of the ground to qualify as a proper fan ?? SO JD,, DOES EVERYONE WHO DOES'NT AGREE WITH YOU NOT A REAL FAN. EVEN OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS WERENT ARSENAL FANS BEFORE THEY BECAME INVOLVED WITH ARSENAL, AND GOING BACK TO SHARES AND WHO OWNS THEM, YOU CAN STILL BE SURE THAT MONEY TALKS WITH THESE PEOPLE

I gave two options - people who say they don't care about the ownership of arsenal are either

i understand the situation and i like to think im a real fan

im a fan and supporter of over 34 years and never cared who was the owner of our club,, as long as the first 11 are winning on the pitch and the fans arent been raped by the board,, people now seem to think the current board are angels,, the only reason the board are now talking to the fans is that they are scared,, never spoke to us so much in the past did they

Sorry but you have no right to judge who is a "real" fan and who is not!

You are entitled to your own opinion obviously about the board situation (which was not the object of this post anyhow) but please don't dismiss others as a lower grade of fan if their opinion differs from yours or they don't have a full grasp on what is going on!

We are all basing our views on various propoganda and you have as little as idea as the rest of us what is actually occuring!

I love all this crap(not) about the current board not taking dividends etc - can you tell me how much these shareholders are out of pocket as a result of this jd ? I would have thought that seeing as the shares that they all own have increased by over Â£4k EACH in the last 15 months will more than compensate them if/when they decide to sell. I mean lets face it how many of them actually invested any money in the club in the 1st place ? PHW ? Nah he just inherited family shares and has actually made money selling some of his inherited shares in the past. Nina bracewell smith also inherited her shares so financially these 2 have contributed zero to the club but stand to make a killing should they decide to sell so dont start spouting off about how financially unrewarded the current board are

I'VE AVOIDED GETTING INVOLVED IN THIS DEBATE AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY MADE MY FEELINGS CLEAR - I AM AGAINST AN USMANOV TAKE-OVER, REGARDLESS. HOWEVER, WITH REFERENCE TO YOUR LAST POINT, I DO NEED TO POINT OUT A MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT PHW AND LADY NINA DO AND WHAT USMANOV IS PROPOSING.

YES, PHW AND LADY NINA HAVE AND WILL MAKE MONEY FROM THEIR SHARES BUT, UNLIKE UNDER USMANOV'S PROPOSAL, THEY ARE NOT TAKING MONEY OUT OF THE CLUB. THAT IS THE BIG DIFFERENCE!!

I'M BY NO MEANS AT ALL THAT KNOWLEDGABLE WHEN IT COMES TO STOCKS AND SHARES, BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT WHEN SHARES ARE TRADED, IT HAS NO FINANCIAL IMPACT ON THE CLUB'S FINANCES (UNLESS, OF COURSE, SOMEONE BUYS IT ALL). THE PEOPLE THAT WIN/LOSE ARE THE SHAREHOLDERS.
