THAT chant being sold online.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just got of the phone with a costumer service rep at Amazon at this number 1-866-216-1072 (this is the US number but they also have a UK number).

Told them that I wouldn't buy anything from them as long they sell this filth. Asked them what they thought about selling and making a profit out of this.

He said he would pass this to the next level.... We won't hold our breath but sure worth a try....

What won't they do for a few pennies...

This from Amazon following my email:

Dear Customer

Thank you for writing to Amazon.co.uk with your concerns about one of the titles we list in our catalogue.

This is an issue we take very seriously and we wanted to share with you our goals with respect to our catalogue.

Our goal is to support freedom of expression and to provide customers with the broadest selection possible so they can find, discover and buy any title they might be seeking. That selection may include titles, which some people, may find distasteful or otherwise objectionable.

Amazon.co.uk believes it is censorship not to offer for sale certain titles with repugnant or distasteful content, and we would be rightly criticised if we did so. As a result, we will continue to make controversial works available in the UK and everywhere else, except where they are prohibited by law.

Furthermore, because we strongly believe that the appropriate response to distasteful or repugnant speech is not censorship, but more speech, we will continue to allow readers, authors, and publishers to express their views freely about the books and other products we offer on our website. It is important to note that we do not endorse any opinions expressed by individual authors, musical artists, or filmmakers.

We value all feedback from our customers, and I thank you again for taking the time to send us your comments about this issue.

We hope you will allow us to continue to serve you.

What an astonishing reply from Amazon! They will sell ANYTHING, however repugnant under the 'free speech' banner? If this went to the media it could really hurt them and might produce some action.

Just got this reply....

Dear Customer

Thank you for your email.

I appreciate the depth of feeling that has led you to contact us with regards to this title being sold on our website.

Whilst we would not wish to cause offence by way of a product listed on our site, we do have a wide range of different genres to appeal to all tastes. As a result, there may occasionally be products such as this album, that cause some degree of offence to some customers.

However, we would hope to minimise the degree to which any offence could be taken by casual browsing of the site, for example in the manner by which the more adult themed music titles are kept apart in search results and editing of titles etc.

I do understand your concern over the matter, however as with DVDs, Books and CDs there will always be certain titles which some will enjoy whilst others do not appreciate.

To this end, we have altered the title of the track in question, as having removed the preview function so that the only people to be aware of the product contents will be those purchasing the title.

Kind Regards,

Customer Care Team

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for a prompt response, although you appear to have missed the point of my complaint. It's not that you sell something I would deem "offensive", it's that you sell something which is potentially libellous and factually inaccurate.

I'm concerned that Play, as a company, have such a blasé attitude to such sick material.

Regards,

Sadly youve got as much chance of getting a favourable response from play as we have of Arsene signing a decent keeper or midfielder this afternoon
