THAT chant being sold online.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Perhaps the Gooner should re-route their links to their recommendations as they're all pointing to Amazon at the moment. :?

Perhaps the best bet is to all bombard the mail boxes of all the news papers(details here http://www.epuk.org/Resources/206/newsp ... -addresses ) asking if they will be covering this abhorent behaviour? (they are all scraping for footy stories since the transfer deadline passed with no big news) perhaps also hit all journo twitters I know Henry winter at the telegraph has one but look around...

Dear Customer

Thank you for writing to Amazon.co.uk with your concerns about one of the titles we list in our catalogue.

Here at Amazon, we believe that people have the right to choose what they listen to. Our goal is to support freedom of expression and to provide customers with the broadest selection possible so they can find, discover, and buy any product they might be seeking. That selection includes products which some people, including employees of Amazon, may find distasteful or otherwise objectionable.

However, Amazon believes it is censorship to make a product unavailable to our customers because we believe its message to be repugnant. Furthermore, because we strongly believe that the appropriate response to repugnant speech is not censorship, but more speech, we will continue to allow customers to express their views via our web site about the products we offer for sale. Stocking controversial content does not mean that Amazon.co.uk endorses the views held within.

We value all feedback from our customers, and I thank you again for taking the time to send us your comments about this issue.

We hope you will allow us to continue to serve you.

Please let us know if this e-mail answered your question:

Warmest regards

Maybe you should reply back and claim to be writting and producing and distributing a song where 'Syed Yousuf' of Amazon is a pedo.
Of course he would be friled to hear this as...."at Amazon, we believe that people have the right to choose what they listen to"

My email is going off in a minute, I suggest others do the same. Should we let both clubs know that this is being sold?

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to convey my disgust at a product that is being sold by your website: play.com (uk).

On the Manchester United Chants MP3 album there is a chant entitle 'sit down you paedophile.' This song is sung by Manchester United fans and aimed at Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The fact that this is factually incorrect and slanderous does not seem to worry you. Nor does the disgusting ill-taste that selling this shows.

I will be making both Arsenal and Manchester United aware of the fact that your company tolerates and promotes this kind of sick, foul-mouthed chanting and hope that you see sense and remove either this chant or the product in question.

I look forward to your views on this matter.

Yours faithfully,

sent - bunch of tosspots for selling that

Just to let you know that I wrote to Ivan Gazidis and have had a reply from the Head of Marketing, Angus Kinnear, who assures me that Arsenal are aware of this disgraceful matter and are currently taking steps through their legal team.

You're right. Play has removed the album. We should concentrate on Amazon and Yahoo.

After I received the email from Amazon with the "freedom of speech" bullshit and "censorship" crap, I asked if they would let me sell a song I wrote about the Amazon rep being abused and raped by his/her father as a child.

No response yet.... :)

Great minds think alike...Did it as my reply...waiting to see what the Fecker/s say to that!

After I said I would close my acocunt - I got the following reply:

Thank you for writing to Amazon.co.uk again with your concerns about one of the titles we list in our catalogue.

I tried to contact you on xxxx-xxx-xxxx, the number listed on your account, on 02/09/09, but I was unable to reach you so I left a message on your answer phone.

I have also now closed your account. It may take up to 24 hours for our systems to update and for your account to become inaccessible by you or anyone else.

If you decide to open an account with us again in the future, you can use your original or any other e-mail address. If you do, you’ll need to enter your personal details into the order form again.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

We value all feedback from our customers, and I thank you again for taking the time to send us your comments about this issue.

to which I replied:

Just to let you know...I have decided to produce and promote a new song entitled "THE PAEDOPHILES AT AMAZON.CO.UK": Featuring:
Syed Yousuf and Haana P of Amazon.co.uk those Peadophile Lovers intent on spreading their disgraceful perversions.

It really has got a the most catchy of tunes, and the lyrics are highly rememberable and should sell by the bucket load, still I'm sure you won't mind -as it is all about the expression of one's personal freedom and not profit.

Yours etc etc etc

I'd strongly advise people to not just contact your average customer service rep - you need to contact supervisors, managers, PR people etc.

Amazon's PR agency have promised me an additional response this afternoon.

Keep up the good work lads and lasses. 8)

It seems Amazon are sending out the same standard reply to all e-mail complaints so I replied back saying that their apathy regarding this matter was disgraceful. I finished by saying that I hoped this came back to bite them on the arse!! Ultimately, it's up to all of us to stop buying stuff from them.

It's important that we don't let this matter just slip away. Has there been any response from the FA, Kick Out Racism or other sort of organisations yet? Also, someone should e-mail/contact Peter Thatchell - the arseole that complained about Arsenal fans carrying inflatable mobile phones - and see whether he is going to kick up as big a fuss about this matter!! :awnker: :awnker:

Haven't heard back on this complaint:

Hi. I have just noticed that you are selling a disgusting and highly slanderous football chant called 'Sit Down (You Paedophile)' and directed by opposition football fans towards the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Here's the link.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002 ... 168&sr=8-1
Surely you have some criteria for assessing the suitability of such items? If so, on what grounds was this track selected? Would you be willing to sell a track I have just recorded 'Jesus Christ Fucks Kids Up The Arse'? The sound quality is even better than Fat Willy's recordings and some of the harmonies are rather moving.
Look forward to hearing.
Thanks
