THAT chant being sold online.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just got this from the premier league:
Dear John,

Thank you for your email regarding the offensive ‘chanting’ at the recent game between Manchester United v Arsenal.

Firstly we would like to stress how disappointed we are that your enjoyment of the match was affected by the behaviour of a minority of supporters. We have contacted Manchester United directly following concerns raised, and they have made the following statement.

“There are many chants, of course, which opposing fans deem to be unpleasant and unnecessary, but on this occasion you are right to say that one of the songs which some supporters directed at Arsene Wenger was unacceptable.

Manchester United deplores the use of this disgusting chant. It will be raised as a matter of urgency with the next meeting of the Fans’ Forum and with supporters’ groups and the situation will be closely monitored the next time the two sides meet at Old Trafford.â€

Isn't the top man at the FA an Arsenal fan? :? Why hasn't he made sure a directive went out to all clubs stating that to hear the chant in any ground is unacceptable and that each club has a responsibility to ensure that perpetrators are thrown out of the ground!!

What Arsenal Football Club could do is write a similar letter to the other clubs - especially the main culprits Man Utd, Spurs and Chelsea - to warn them that if the chant is heard in their ground, Arsenal will refuse to give that club's fans any tickets for future games at our stadium. 8)

I cancelled a £50 order yesterday and let them know why I was cancelling.

Bought my books from another website this morning http://www.bookdepository.co.uk. I saved money to Boot so will definately not be returning to Amazon even if they withdraw said item.

Hit them where it hurts....in the balance sheets!

I've just checked and Amazon.com site is still selling it. They must think we are really stupid!

"It said: "Arsenal Football Club has provided us with formal notice that content within the album 'Manchester United Chants' is defamatory in nature and we have, therefore, removed this title from our website."

If Arsenal lawyers contacted them they would have said it was 'SLANDEROUS' as the comments are not written down anywhere.

Amazon are so full of shit - and if they were so worried about lergal action why the feck is it stil on the amazon.com site.

they will never get a penny from me again.

Presumably Arsenal have also contacted itunes and others which is why its still up on itunes. The only reason Amazon took it off is becuase it was hurting their wallets.

Actually, you are technically incorrect. Defamation takes two forms - libel (written and published) and slander (spoken), both of which are collectively referred to as defamation. As such, referring to the comments as "defamatory" is entirely correct. Looks like Arsenal having their own in-house legal counsel is startiing to pay off.

Funny about kick it out, i emailed them a few days ago, and they said:

Many thanks for your recent email and for bringing this incident to our attention.

Although Kick It Out does not condone any form of abuse or anti-social behaviour in our football stadiums, and this chanting is extremely offensive, we have no authority over incidents of this nature.

I would recommend that you raise your complaint with the club directly involved, and would suggest you contact the customer service department at Manchester United on this occasion.

We appreciate your complaint and would welcome any observations on incidents of discrimination relating to equality.

Once again, we thank you for your correspondence.

Kind regards

Couldn't believe it when I saw the story on BBC that Amazon had withdrawn it. Well done everyone!
