And here it is...The excuse!Swale_Gooner1985 wrote:What is all this dropped or rested bollocks? Almunia has a chest infection and so doesnt feature!
I think we will go
Mannone
Clichy
Sagna
Gallas
Vermaelen
Song
Diaby
Fabregas
Eboue
Eduardo
Bendtner
It's aimed at you Swale but that's a Wenger / medical team's way of internaly dropping someone.

Don't misread me on this as I am not trying to have a dig, but have you - or anyone on here - actually seen either of these two play a competitive game live for 90 minutes ??
I am not referring to a pre season friendly or a 5 minute clip on you tube. But an actual game with something at stake ?
If so what are eithers strengths/weaknesses ??

Thought you were suggesting he should go in goal for a minute!I_AM_GOONER wrote:If Fabianski was fit I would say he was dropped but I can't see him dropping almunia for Mannone... he has looked poor whenever he has played.
Hope he plays Szczeny he is much better than Mannone...
Where's Merida though?? no mention of him being injured but not in the squad?

Well said!PI7ES wrote:A chest infection?
If a goalkeeper cannot play with a cough then these players really do need to grow some balls.

I once played a mid winter match with a chest infection and full flu and a roaring temperature. My genius coach reckoned a few hot whiskeys before the game and at half time would see me through. I drank them, played like Eboue on downers and then puked all over the showers after the game. And we are talking phlegm and vomit mixed puke with a nice tang of stale whiskey off it too!! Oh, and a good pile of undigested bean sprouts from the dodgy chinese the night before...

All the other poor fuckers on my team couldn't have a shower and had to skip the pub and go home to wash! I was so popular that week...

Also once puked on the pitch as I was still drunk from the night before... and the fucking ref held up the game and gave me a lecture!

No, but a lot of things arent career threatening, Ljungberg missed enough games with a headache, is that career threatening, is a dead leg career threatening? If he is too ill to play then he wont be in the squad, Wenger isnt one to play ill or injured players!flash gunner wrote:Chest infections....... Are they career threatening?

mannone looks very unsafe to me, in a fabianski way. he rushes out of goal like a starving child looking for a hamburger, you know? exactly like fabianski, and i hate that.
szsczcsszcnsny has very good reflexes, is a little bit taller (i think he is our tallest keeper) and even though he is the youngest, he looks like an established keeper, very calm and safe. i think his distribution is not the best, though, but again, he is so very young. he looks promising to me.
but again, i remember saying that manninger would become a top keeper, so maybe you should not listen to me
