The National Rugby League grand final is this Sunday, and my beloved Parramatta Eels take on the heavyweight Melbourne Storm...
To put it in a bit of context...Parramatta haven't made a final since 2001 (I was there, we were favourites, we lost it before half half time...it hurt) and haven't won a final since 1986.
Melbourne will be playing their 4th consecutive final, having won it in 2007 and lost it in both 2006 and 2008.
Melbourne go into this match favourites (probably deservedly) but I have faith in Parramatta.

The Eels were amongst the bottom three on the ladder for most of the season, and weren't even considered a chance of playing in the finals until the week before the regular (league) season finished. So its been a wonderful underdog story.
And as a side note, you might want to note the newfound support they've gathered along the way.

So as much as I hate a lot of these bandwagoners, I think all of you foreigners should support Parramatta and watch the match - it is being televised in the UK!!!

(DB10 I can however, excuse, seeing as he may already be a fan of a certain side from Brisbane...)
And for those of you who dislike rugby league based on what you've seen in England - watch this match. You will understand that what is played over there pales in comparison to the true sport played here. The English Super League is to the NRL what the Scottish Premier League is to the English Premier League.
