Bendtners car

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

FOOTBALL star Nicklas Bendtner's Aston Martin is left a mangled wreck after a smash from which he escaped with his life.
The Arsenal striker crashed the £160,000 black sports car while driving to his club's training ground.
Bendtner, 21, careered off the road and ploughed through a fence before smashing into a tree and coming to a stop in a field...
Do you think he was just visiting relatives? :?
only if there is a donkey sanctuary nearby

That was my point!! I thought people would have realised without me going into detail!! :tumbleweed: :tumbleweed:

i'm amazed you're saying that after yesterday's great match. i thought eboué was very solid at the back and made few mistakes up front as well.

Police report that neighbours of Bendtner saw a tall, black man with a Togolese sweatband in the area the night before with a pair of cable cutters.

Nicklas Bendtner:
divine intervention saved my life in car crash

Nicklas Bendtner has claimed his life was saved in a car crash earlier this week through divine intervention.

Speaking for the first time since the accident, the 21-year-old Arsenal striker said: "I believe that somebody held his hand over me. I don't know what or who, but looking in a broader perspective I simply felt somebody assisting me. I believe fully that this was just not my time. It was not time for my life to end."

The Denmark international's Aston Martin was written off after the accident which happened as he was driving to training last weekend. "Had my car been smaller and less secure it could have been fatal," Bendtner said. "They [the police] did label it a miracle that this didn't end in tragedy or at least with severe injuries to me."

Despite suffering minor injuries, Bendtner returned to training on Thursday and said that he expected to be in the squad for Sunday's Premier League match against Blackburn Rovers.

Of the accident, he added: "I recall every single fraction of a second. I didn't pass out or lose consciousness. Somebody claimed that I was speeding at 160 km/h. I don't know where such nonsense has been invented. It is completely false. I did not travel that fast. Not at all. I have spoken to the police and there will be no case because speeding was not involved.

"The accident happened because a car pulled in right in front of me in the left lane. I realised that I would ram the other car a second later if I failed to react. I remember thinking: 'This will end every, very badly. I could die now'.

"So I jerked the steering wheel really hard to the right trying to avoid the other car. With success... but I did hit the hard shoulder in the middle of the road. The car spun back across the road, hit a bunch trees that luckily aren't that big. I flew into a field where the car came to a halt. Completely destroyed. I know that this could've gone much worse."

Bendtner said that he suffered "a lot of pain in my upper body". He added: "They refer to it as a 'safety belt shoulder'. I do also have a bunch of scratches and bruises. And then my knees have been suffering a severe compression.

"So far I have been training alone and have undergone plenty of examinations. I have received a lot of massage to my back to remove the pain. But Thursday I will be training with the team again at Arsenal and they plan to play me again Sunday."

Just a shame that God didn't tell him to get out of the way of Fabregas' shot a couple of years ago when he tried to back heel it in himself!
