As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Just seen the stickin up for the underdog thread and it's 3 pages long already, must be a bit slow tonite, but I sincerely hope that nobody thinks I am against criticism, but it must be fair, and for the record I'll take the piss when it's due as well and have done frequently on this board, but I think it's a bit hysterical to label any minor conflicts surrounding this issue as a major conspiracy to sanitise the forum, I f**kin knew someone would come off with that one, which is why I actually asked in my post not for people to make out that I was attempting (as if I could anyway) to turn this place into something other than the place I love now - don't worry TS I've space for you too but I thought when you said you were referring to another thread that you were referring to the RvP thread were me and Augie were at odds - if that's what you mean about bein confused then _ my bad

But I find it interesting that if Smoothie has a negative comment about a player, it's 'constructive criticism' but if someone else says something negative, it's not supporting the team. They call that double standards.
Thought as much - if someone sez something negative then that's ok but when someone is negative over 90% of the time that's hardly constructive, especially when to say the least it very rarely stands up to close scrutiny and is driven by a personal agenda, and in answer to your previous post, it is fair to judge as the very word suggests, but some posts are more akin to a kangaroo court!
Belfast, have you been prescribed argumentative pills

I have you heard me call a player a slanderous nickname? Er no! the people who call Phil and Songs name are no better than the idiots who called Tony Adams a donkey in the late 80s.

OK, you know what? I tired being diplomatic about all of this, but this post was just fucking ridiculous so I had to pull you up on it...
So let me get this straight, the people who call Phil and Song names are idiots right? So you've just called them a name (an idiot), so does that make you an idiot too? Christ on a bike, some people on this forum are fucking hilarious.
I shall cherish this post forever more. It's as if Smoothie did it on purpose as a means of allowing me to justify exactly what double fucking standards means.
No one should ever slag a player of who gives it there all! your entitled to your opinion but at the same time so am I! Big Phil always look commited to the cause! Now this post started because someone thought super tom wasnt up to much. Maybe the postwriter is eating a large slice of humble pie after todays performance, and I'm pretty sure you'll be eating some to in the not so distant future!
I doubt the thread writer is eating humble pie he was never slagging anyone off!
Never criticise a player who gives their all? That's rubbish. I understand the sentiment but no one, and I mean no one is beyond criticism.
You're making this up as you go along. You haven't answered any of my points or questions. You are allowed to criticise players but the second that anyone else has something to say that differs from your opinion, you throw your toys out of the fucking pram. What the hell is going on with you man? You need to lighten up! I can't discuss this shit any more, especially not with you. All the fun has gone out of your posts, you've become paranoid and you disregard what anyone else has to say if it differs from your point of view. I suggest you sort it out. I was under the impression we were all mates here...
How was your boys 18th DB? I'm guessing the ManUre 'fans' comment about three European Cups made your night!
Not my boy. Mate's boy. My muppets are two and three years old. But yeah, it was class. When the wife leaned in and said "Actually, it's only two" I nearly cracked a rib laughing... And she knows very little about the beautiful game. More than that manure fool, though...

She's a top O'Doris when needed. Her first trip over to THOF1 back in 1999 or 2000 against Derby, the Derby thugs to our right (we were west lower, front row, Clock End end of stand) were offering us all outside afterwards (as they do) and one arsechomper in particular kept jumping up roaring at us waving his fists etc etc fucking etc...
So, up she pops and yells, "Fuck off no mates!" followed by our whole block chanting "Fuck off no mates! Fuck off no mates!"
I spent the whole second half with my right hand covering the right side of my face, waiting for the inevitable Zippo or pound coin to come sailing across.
