Fecking complacancy cost us again!!
When the hell are we going to learn to defend properly?
As for Diaby, I'm sorry but as much as I believe that he is talented, I'm no longer able to stomach his many soddy performances in the hope of an above average one!! The guy contributed absolutely nothing to tonight's performance - apart from almost conceding an own goal - and when switched more forward near the end, managed to get himself off-side twice from long balls coming from our half!!
The guy is absolutely brain-less!!:banghead:
As for his marking in the build up to AZ's equaliser, what can I say?
So sorry, that's it for me as far as Diaby is concerned. I no longer have any faith that he will develop into the very good - maybe even great - player he should have done.
I never thought the day would come when I'd write these words but 'Come back Denilson, all is forgiven!!'

At the risk of pissing off all those that think Song is the bestest defensive midfielder since records began - what the f**k was he doing when Mendes Da Silva latched onto Pelle's knockdown????

Song wasn't the only one at fault tonight but he was ball watching and had no idea where his man was. F**king criminal from a team that wants to win the Champions League.
Has Arsene got Martin Keown's number?? Get a defensive coach in for f**ks sake!!

I wouldn't dispute what you say. But it's the same old, same old...same old. I could see us getting to the Qtrs or maybe the semis if the draw favours us - then BANG 'Out we Go !' as soon as any team with quality arrives.
Just as before.
Do you know what, I'd completely forgotten all about Denilson's existence!I Hate Hleb wrote:Fecking complacancy cost us again!!![]()

Though Clichy was terrible tonight and I'm usually a staunch defender (unlike, er, Clichy) of him. Sloppy, getting his own players in a pickle, don't remember him making one tackle nor a run...I noticed in the programme on sat that he mentioned still not being over his injury from the summer and the exposure of 4-3-3 so at least he's away he's playing shite but he has been a shadow if his old self recently.
All i take from tonight is we might have needed a bit of a jolt to avoid complacency ahead of the upcoming matches.
Kind of agree but we never make is easy for ourselves, this could now mean going to greece needing a point. and we all know wenger is going to send our reserves out there, so finishing second has once again become a possibility and drawing the bigger sides again.BT wrote:Do you know what, I'd completely forgotten all about Denilson's existence!I Hate Hleb wrote:Fecking complacancy cost us again!!![]()

Last nights results have shown 2 things
1. First or second is not going to make a blind bit of difference in tge groups anymore. Platini has ended up making the champs league stronger than before with more actual champions. More teams willing to have a go like Kazan did last night or the Rumanians.
2. Being sloppy against apparent weaker opposition in Europe will get you punished. Inter,Barca, the bin-dippers and ourselves proves that.
Oh and when the ball takes half an hour to come down when it's crossed into the box, the keeper or the defenders should be all over it. There was no excuse for the free header there sustitute got to nod the ball down or the unmaked player to volley it in.
I hate concedeing so late and from slack defending.

Before game, would have been happy with draw. Furoius after game and felt AZ deserved something simply for our lethargy and laziness at 1-0 up in second half
First half, played a containing game and did it well, AZ had one shot of note and we looked dangerous whenever we broke. We deserved our lead, solid at the back and a creative threat from our front 5, Arshavin's constant slipping aside we started second half well. Bar one or two slips from Clichy and Song on the ball being a bit careless, didn't have too many complaints
Then we grew lazy. We didn't try to score and we lost our discipline, Van Persie had to clear a few set pieces and Wenger's response? Poor. We had the energy of Ramsey, who he shoved out side, and Wilshire, why Ramsey for any of the midfield 3 and Wilshire for any of the wingers, tell the double act to inject some energy into the side. The offside miss should have been a wake up call, the 6 yard miss even more so but it wasn't. Ok last ten minutes, Arshavin drove us on, should have had penalty when Vela was fouled but one long boot up pitch, fail to win ball in air and nobody picks up the run 1-1.
This probably won't affect much in the long term, we have 7 points and should easily win our home game against this lot but we can not try to cruise a game before being three goals in the lead

Personally I blame the equaliser on Arshavin. The only way AZ were going to score was from a set piece played into the box. With a minute to go the last thing we need to do is to give them a free kick so they can get everyone forward into the box and have a crack.
Arshavin the lazy *word censored* however decides that he can't be arsed to get onside in time for when our defence clears out and so we end up giving away a free kick!
In the last minute it is natural for defenders to hoof it up the pitch so why the fcuk was he to stupid or more to the point too lazy to at least be in an onside position when it came!
His lazy attitude is starting to piss me off and for all his brilliance he needs to make sure he doesn't become another Berbatov

Unbelievable!!
Over the past couple of weeks I've seen both Cesc and Arshavin - the only two undisputedly world-class players we have in our side and guys who, even on their worst days, still offer more than Diaby and Eboue - criticised by some on here, such has been their desparation to take the heat of the likes of toblerone head and the diving twat!!
Like I said, unbelievable.
