HENRY AND GALLAS ROB THE IRISH!!!?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Have you seen it in real time Magic? There is no way Gallas would have known what had just happened and had enough time to get out of the way or catch the ball

Fair enough but then, why do some condemn the referee for failing to spot it?

I agree the ref and linesman could have and did miss it, i am in favour of video replays to help them or at the very least extra goal line officials

I think that even if there were extra officials on the goal, they might have conveniently "missed it" too. Same with the video evidence.

Platini and Blatter wanted the French at the World Cup from the get go.

It's up for the referee to spot it, or the linesman. This was nothing like a dive or handling the ball into the goal like Maradonna did.
Radford thinks this is the post of the night.
Radford would  I hope Radford is enjoying his 5 mins, in over a year of reading this forum I think it's the first time I've read posts agreeing with him.

For what its worth hadareud I agree with you to a point. The first time he handled it could be forgiven, inctinctively or ball to arm or however you want to put it. However the second handball, where he flicked it on with his hand was every bit as bad as Maradonnas goal but like in 1986 it wasn't spotted by the officials.

I guess we can moan about this for the next 23 years and it won't change the result.

Overreaction?? Oh yeah my country has just been robbed of qualification to next years world cup by one of the most blatant acts of CHEATING ever seen so I think I may be entitled to that.

Henry will now forever be remembered as a cheat. Pure and simple. Just like Maradona will always be remembered for being the same.

Why the f**k are the British media making so much fuss about a game between two teams who have little to do with Britain.

Yes it was handball but why didnt the GK come out and punch the ball first?

The team got thier tactics wrong France were not creating anything when RoI were attacking but when they got the goal they started to sit back further and further allowing the French to come at them

Did'nt the RoI have a great chance to make it 2-0 in the 2nd half but the player missed(cant remember who had the shot) if he had of scored the Henry handball would of been irelivant. He seemed to have no confidence in his shot in games like this you have to take your chances

I think the Hand of God incident only adds to to legend that is Maradona.
Footballers are HUMAN (  ) Maradona was a cheat, Thierry is not exactly a saint either...

In my eyes Maradona is still the best player to ever play the game.

WINNING IS ALL THAT MATTERS, you are naive if you think otherwise.

No radford can assure you that country is out because your strikers are crap. not because TH14 (the LEGEND) handled the ball.

and Radford thinks Maradona IS still a great player
