As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Wengers interview was utter class. Interestingly, he thinks it should be replayed.
You can't replay it, it would open up too big a can of worms - for every future incident in European or world competition, if a team lost because of a dodgy decision, they would challenge it, probably legally and it would be the end for football.
It does bring to mind things like Henchoz's handball on the line against us in the FA cup final.....we moaned but didn't make too much of it, or Eboue's blatant cheating dive that won us the free kick that we scored from in the CL.......not sure too many of us would have been complaining if the score had stayed 1-0 and we won it?
Oh, and quite how the linesman didn't see it I don't know, HE is the one everyone should be getting at, he had a great view of it.
Bottom line is, the Irish failed to qualify through winning the group, had a second chance through the play off and still didn't win. I think it's time for it to be accepted.
All this controversy could be avoid if Fifa took there head out of the sand and brought in video technology. How long does it take to show a replay?30 secs Better to have the game go on for 10 mins longer if it means we get the right decisions.

better yet, it will take up less time because it will stop the time wasted where players surround the ref and protest etc because the ref can just run over to a monitor and view the incident almost instantly.
Arsène Wenger is embarrassed by the way France qualified for the World Cup Finals and believes that technology is the best solution for avoiding similar situations in the future.
Les Bleus reached South Africa by drawing with Ireland in the most controversial circumstances on Wednesday. Thierry Henry clearly handled the ball before squaring for William Gallas to score in extra time but the goal was allowed to stand.
The issue has dominated ever since, with even Irish political figures getting involved. Understandably the incident was front and centre during Wenger’s Friday press conference.
“I support France [but] it’s embarrassing to qualify the way we qualified,â€
Don't want to act like a wind up merchant, but I just found something interesting on youtube. It's the game played by Ireland that brought them against France....
Sky are quoting Henry’s twitter page as if it must really be him just cos it’s got his name on it. How long before they’re quoting Adebayore’s page?
As much as this whole thing is utter bullshit the best scenario for me now would be if they replayed it & either Henry got the winner or France battered the Irish senseless & Henry ran riot with a hat-trick. Nothing against the Irish - I actually would have preferred them to win first time round - but I’d just love to see the media/press have all their bitching & whining about “moralsâ€

That's okay French Gun, we know you're not a piss-taker. However, the thing that is winding me up is the fact that this was already mentioned and a link posted on page 3 of this thread!!!
