Dear "realists"
It's not gonna take a 'few million' to do thatLethal wrote:For me personally i believe in the majority of the players and really think that there a few holding us back (almunia + denilson to name a few) and the man to blame for that is wenger, why he won't go out and spend the extra few million on bringing a good team up a level to a great team ?

You're going to need a lot more than say 5 million to have a great squad capable of challenging for the title. look at chelsea and how much theyve spent, would you call that a 'few million'?
At the end of the day this squad was made on a real budget with the exception of 15m? for arshavin and i think 10m on vermalen, so thats about 25m on just two players. If you want a world class squad with world class players in all positions then its not going to cost a few million, its going to cost a lot more than that.

The point the original poster is missing is the realists are saying Wenger buying a keeper and a striker will greatly improve our title hopes.
We went down this road in 07/08 when we were 6 pts clear. And we finished 3rd.

[quote="12thGooner"]Some weeks i'm a rosey other weeks i'm a realist. Like when we play absolute shite (chavs at home)i accept that it may not go our way this season, and when we play amazing (everton first game) i think this is it.
What you call yourself in your own home dressed in your missus gear is entirely up to you dear

Oh Dear ! Trophies are generally handed out in May. We are still in January !!

I do hope the players are more grounded than this. And in case you've forgotten 2008 was just like this, only we actually had a 5 point lead. I'm sure you remember what happened come the end !?

66-1
Looked at the betting last night and saw 1-0 Arsenal was bull, 2-0 not worth sniffing at, even 5-0 was 20-1...but 4-2 i liked, 66-1
stuck £20 onit....love Ladbrokes today....
Some fella though nailed Cahill first goalscorer and 4-2 at a whopping 800-1 ...puts my winnings into perspective..he stuck £5 on it i hear....
