Before the "big" 4 games, did we not go on a 9 game unbeaten league run taking 23 points out of 27 ?Number 5 wrote:Absolutely not. To answer the question on page 1.
I am pretty amazed to be hearing all day and not just bits and pieces on here that we'll hit some kind of 12 game unbeaten run from here on in possibly all games being winnable.
Have these people not been watching Arsenal this year so far?
You couldn't say any team in the league has shown that kind of potential this year.
This mother fucker still recalls Sunderland away and West Ham away all too freshly to contemplate us being in with a shot. My son asked me on the walk to school this morning if we're back in it and I'll say the same thing here I said to him.
Ask me again after our next 5 league games.
Honestly, has tonight’s results changed your mind at all?

As long as there is a mathematical chance of winning the league i'm not giving up just yet.We just need to show a lot of confidence in our play and believe we can win all our remaining 12 games.Thou it seems impossible but we got to believe and try.And even if we dont win the league i hope we finish 2nd
9 isn't 12 my man.clockendal wrote:Before the "big" 4 games, did we not go on a 9 game ubeaten league run taking 23 points out of 27 ?Number 5 wrote:Absolutely not. To answer the question on page 1.

23 out of 27, we're already 6 behind. Dropping 4 points is unlikely to help when we have to catch up as it is.

Fair enough 9 isn't 12. But I don't how you can be "amazed" people can think we can go on a 12 match run when a couple of weeks ago we did 9. If we can do 9 I think there's a good chance we can do 12.Number 5 wrote:9 isn't 12 my man.clockendal wrote:Before the "big" 4 games, did we not go on a 9 game ubeaten league run taking 23 points out of 27 ?Number 5 wrote:Absolutely not. The point I was making is that it is not unlikely tho is it ? As in we've just done one run so who's to say we can't do another ? Chelsea and Man U will drop points that much is certain (they have to play each other so something's got to give)
I am not suggesting we are going to win it. But I think we have a real chance.
I can be "amazed" because I saw the games against West Ham and Sunderland. As I pointed out already.clockendal wrote:Fair enough 9 isn't 12. Those 2 games more than any other (Bar 3 point wins) stick in my mind the most this season. One where we played possibly the worst 90 minutes I've seen under Wenger and the other where we spunked away a 2 goal lead.
So based on precedent this season of the team bottling it at certain times and just not turning up at others, for this Arsenal team to rock up with an 10 game winning streak or to remain undefeated for the rest of the season will amaze me.
I'll give it five games. On any normal season I'd say our next five games are winnable. I'll say it now, they are winnable. But do we have the mentality, hunger and basic attention span to put 450 minutes of championship winning football together? I don't think so.
But fuck if I'm not gonna support the bollocks out of them for each minute of the 450.

NO,as others have already posted this team will bottle it some way down the line or it be a case of us throwing points away. It's been a weird season with everyone dropping points and with us having a run of winning games it just hiding the fact we haven't got the players to win the title and if we did win it it wouldn't be us actually winning but manure and chavski throwing it away(which i doubt).

I'm also a natural pessimist (life has taught me that it takes the edge off any disappointments, even if only a little), but if - and it's a big if - we can win the rest of our home games and avoid defeat against Spurs, Birmingham and Stoke, then maybe we could still win it.
That would give us a minimum 82 points and Wenger did say earlier in the season that he thought that around that total would be enough to win the title. However, the truth is that the title is not in our hands to win but in our rivals to lose, as we will be reliant on both of them continuing to drop enough points.
Still, even though I'll probably regret it in due course, I can't deny that my spirits and hopes have been raised just that little bit by the events of yesterday. Therefore, even though it's against my nature, I'm going to try very hard to think positively and not fear the worst as much.
Although as someone somewhere has already said: it's not the despair that kills you, it's the hope!!

No chance i'm afraid. Annoying when you think, 'if only we'd EVEN drawn at home to the mancs?' It would give them 2 less & us 1 more. I have no doubt that Chelsea & Utd will definatly drop points, but unfortunatly so will we. It baffles me that people say we have an 'easy' run in? Am i the only one looking at Stoke away, Hull away, brum away & **** away & wondering realistically how many points we'll take out of that little lot?!
Spot on mate, we will struggle at all those games you have mentionedmike wrote:No chance i'm afraid. Annoying when you think, 'if only we'd EVEN drawn at home to the mancs?' This side is not good enough to go on a 12 game winning run, the defence is shocking, Bendtner is the only person who thinks he has the quality to lead an arsenal attack, I have to say if this team won the league it would be the worst team in the history of the premiership to be crowned Champions !!
Imagine Walcott/Denilson/Vela/Bendtner/Eduardo with a premier league medal on their CV??? SHocking !! Christ I nearly forgot Almunia
And Wenger would never even pretend he was about to enter the transfer market
