As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

he's not David Villa, but he's a tough, brave, resilient striker made for the brittish football.
Interesting.
Who do you rate in the French league, mate?
there's many players who could have great futur in big clubs like Gourcuff (Bordeaux), Eden Hazard (Lille) who is only 19 but he's already one of the best players in France, Lloris (Lyon), Gervinho (Lille), and Kevin Gameiro (Lorient).
Who would you most like to see in the red and white of the arsenal?
Out of that lot I'd Lloris...
I'd say Lloris aswell.
Hazard can become a top class player, but he's very similar to Wilshere.
Gourcuff could be an option if Fabregas leaves.
we have the chance to get Sagna going again by keeping the threat of Eboue taking his place.
Whether he was rested, injured or dropped for the Liverpool match the fact that Eboue put in a great shift will hopefully force him to kick on a bit.
I agree....I thought Eboue was surely impressive against pool. We can never get rid of Eboue. he is our best utility player off the bench. This man can play in any poistion on the pitch! Glad Wenger is showing him some playing time....and he won't bitch like other players about not starting every match.....
If this Happens...and I hope to god Fabregas never leaves...you know that day will come, and if Gourcuff still hasn't found a world class club, i'd welcome him with open arms.
Heard a lot about him for the past 2 or 3 years but not actually been that impressed whenever I've seen him in action. Didn't one of the big Spanish clubs (Barca?) sign him then loaned him out again?

spot on with the gourcuff part Vince. If Cesc was to leave, I'm very confident yohann would be the best replacement, as I see them as quite similar in class, vision and spirit.
As for a goalkeeper, I'd have jeanot rather than Lloris. I think Lloris is still erratic coming off his line at some times. I'd still have Lloris any day if given the opportunity. Niang is quality as well. He could be
While we're waiting for Chamakh - who might, or might not be good enough - the guy we could and should have picked up, who would have fitted into our style of play and is already a proven goal-scorer, is bagging them in for AC Milan!!!

Zizou actually started in Cannes...but your right when he switched to bordeaux in '92, that is when he really started out his career as a great player.
I believe Fab has the ability to become as much of a legend as Zidane...as long as he stays in the red and white!
I'd rather have Chamakh on our squad than hunteelar...although it woulda been kinda sweet to have the two Dutch strikers on our club.
As far as Gourcuff. I don't believe he'd ever play in the Prem. I see him having more success on a Serie A team.. I am fully suprised Milan let him go to start out with when he was on loan...
If he really is signing for us then all I can guarantee is the following:
1. He is a winner
2. He has great intelligence
3. Technically very strong
4. Overall, I believe that he has great potential
5. A very good spirit
6. He fights until the final second of the season
....whether he's actually any good remains to be seen but I welcome any addition of a natural striker to the Midgets XI
MAROUANE CHAMAKH will be an Arsenal player this summer after saying yes to a four-year, £10.4million deal.
The free agent Bordeaux ace has snubbed a BIGGER offer from Liverpool and put pen to paper on a Gunners pre-contract agreement.
It will mean £50,000 a week for the man Arsene Wenger believes can be the 'new Emmanuel Adebayor'.
We told you first on Boxing Day that Arsenal boss Wenger had stepped up his bid to land the striker, even though publicly he had ended his interest in Chamakh.
Liverpool were offering the 26-year-old £10,000 a week more.
But the 6ft 2in Moroccan was desperate to work with Wenger and his decision will be a stinging snub for under-fire Kop chief Rafa Benitez.
Chamakh is rated one of France's top frontmen and was a key member of Laurent Blanc's title-winning team last season.
Arsenal tried to land him last summer in a £6m swoop. But Bordeaux wanted double that and the deal stalled.
