Thought both Nasri & Eboue were excellent. Eboue was struggling a little in the final 15 mins but he did take a couple of knocks and busted his bollix prior to then.

Bendtner is a clueless chicken. Fair play to him for grabbling the goal. He could have had another if he pushed himself into the box on one our attacks but he decided to remain outside the box with open space between himself and the goal.

Walcott's lack of 1st team action showed again. His decision making (crossing and position) was very poor at times but he did make an exceptional run and unleashed a strike on goal. He also made a a couple of others notable dashes down the line leaving his opponent struggling.

Ramsey showed once again that if Fabregas leaves he has the potential to step right into his shoes (they should always play in the same team). He did stray a few passes but his movement and ambition was very good.

Also a mention to Almunia - he played well.

Overall an encouraging performance and in fact a great result giving out recent record against them (we only scored 2 goals in 4 matches v Sunderland prior to yesterday).

Just got back home from the match

First things first, congratulations on what was a deserved victory. We didn't play as badly as we have done in recent weeks and the display was fairly "spirited" but we severely lacked any cutting edge in midfield and, although we could have nicked a draw had we taken one of our few chances (particularly kenwyne jones' gilt edged first half chance), we didn't deserve anything from the game.

From the Arsenal side of things, Eboue was your best player by a fair distance on the day, full of running and caused us plenty of problems. Theo Walcott was fucking hopeless- George McCartney was scared shitless of him and couldnt handle his pace but it hardly mattered since every ball Walcott played when he got past him was wasted.

Fabregas had a hit and miss game- didnt stamp his authority on it as much as he normally does. On that evidence I'm not sure that Ramsey and Fabregas are a very good partnership as there didnt seem to be much communication between the two of them, but maybe others have seen them play well together on other occasions

Almunia looked comfortable in goal and seemed to bring a bit of confidence to the defence, and Nasri was lively and threatening.

I was stuck in the Arsenal end in the upper tier so didnt get to join in with the singing of "gary rowell world" which looked quality, with our lot jumping all over the place. Theres normally a good atmosphere when we expect to get beaten, although apparently a fair few of our lads were pissed off at the stewards, who were kicking some of our lot out for standing and singing by the sounds of things. All PL stewards seem to be *word censored* (ours are no exception) and it is getting ridiculous the way they try to ensure there is no atmosphere whatsoever at matches

Pre match i made it down to watch the sunderland fans beat the arsenal fans, so at least that was one victory for us! Mind, i wish i had taken a later flight that could have led to me missing that first half

Post match we went drinking all over the place, but ended up in some pub with dodgems near the millenium eye which we duly went on when pissed, which was a laugh. We made it to trafalgar square and saw Big Ben and the palace, and then went to a "club" (basically just a fucking expensive pub with drinks at about £8 ) for one before deciding it was shit craic and opting for a gay bar in soho instead, where we tried it on with a few unsuspecting females (unsuccessfully, but we're going to assume this is because they were lesbians !). Only bad thing about the night was some wanker trying to pickpocket me mates wallet, but he didnt succeed so thats all good- still annoying that the prick managed to run away just when i was looking forward to leathering him all ower london

So, an entertaining day out was had, followed by a flight with a hangover and now i am off to bed, apologies if this post made no sense whatsoever, i'm somewhat knackered!

Oh well, the best team won, best of luck for the rest of the season, hope you manage to grab the title

Agree with all of this.

Wally Walnut has not improved any aspect of his game since he came to Arsenal. The ludicrous thing is that only Arsenal fans and people who actually went to the game can see what a shit, ineffective time he had and when he comes across an excellent left back he is even worse see: Cuntley at shithole #2 ( ).

You're right about Ramsey and Fabregas, I've always felt that Ramsey is being groomed as a replacement for fabregas rather then a partner. That said, when Diaby isnt fit I'd play Ramsey over Denilson any day of the week.

I'm a big Nasri fan he's just fairly inconsistent, especially away from home. Almunia had a good game, but I remember he had a good game when he came back from that "chest infection" earlier in the season before it all collapsed again so I wont hold my breath.

I think the area you lot need to work on most is your defence, if we were in the form and confidence of a couple of months ago you'd probably be looking at a similar scoreline to the chav game. That said, your defensive problems wouldn't have been so exposed if you'd had a better grip on the centre of the park I guess.

I hate stewards. I once got told to sit down when I was in the back row of the ground. Nowadays wearing a football shirt is the equivalent of smearing myself in shit and wearing a T-shirt praising the Nazis.

Did anyone find it frustrating that as our only recognised striker, Bendtner kept going to the wing? Its something that might work in a 4-4-2 but when we've got a 4-3-3/4-5-1 it leaves us with no-one in the box. Van Persie seemed to have learned how to play the Centre Forward role (even though his nature is to come deep) and I think Bendtner needs similar training to get the best out of him.

Chuffed he scored though :D

Glad you had a good day, mate. You should have come over and said hello at the fans match. Your lads gave us a bit of a thrashing but we'll get them next year!!

Amazingly (or not) both Match of the Day and Soccer Sunday totally ignored the criminal challenge by Cana on Eboue!!!  They didn't even show the incident, let alone discuss it. :banghead: :banghead:  Imagine if that had been an Arsenal player?

By the way, if anyone reckons Wenger is a moaner then Steve Bruce really puts the whole thing in perspective :D

According to him, we get lucky decisions from the ref about penalties that smaller teams just dont get

We're the penalty masters :barscarf:

For what it's worth mate, I find this harrassment of diehard oppo fans - who have travelled miles and spent small fortunes to fill up the away section of our ground; bringing passion, colour and atmosphere to the occasion - a fcuking disgrace. As i was admiring your support and wondering what on earth any of them could have done to merit ejection from the stadium, I couldn't help thinking "bet they wouldn't have dared do that to the Greeks or Croatians..." But then I do come from a different footballing era. One with "bite".
On the pitch I thought it was a mixture of our profligacy and your pluck that the game wasn't dead and buried long before it was. Obviously I was focussed on The Arsenal and could see that lots of your lot were being played (wildly) out of position but you have a decent keeper and a very good player in Richardson. You've got to stay up. :barscarf:

You are not the only one.

I thought Walcott was pretty decent for the first half hour and then faded from the game. His approach play was good-ish but there is no finish or final ball in his game.

Having said that, it was the best I've seen him in an Arsenal shirt this season but given how utterly League 1 - if that - he has been to date, it doesn't say very much.

But - two goals scored and none conceeded. That's what matters !
OK Rob, I've had a few as usual. But you've confused me here. I was one of the booers for Eboue last season. (sounds like a self help group) but I was leading the singing of his name in the south end today. However every time in the second half when the ball came any where near Silvestre I was almost shitting my pants. He was lost and had no idea how to cope with Bent/Jones. I was praying for Sol to come on.

Reality check its 2010 and i'm praising Eboue and want Sol to play. I'm in an episode of Dr Who.

Very nervous game for me but right result. Big issues are we cannot score with such dominant possession and we always look like we will concede with every opposition attack. :?

As they said on MOTD it could have been 10-0 or a draw.

I honestly thought Silvestre was sound today. Particularly in the first half. Good interceptions, good distribution. In the second half he was down the other end but most of the second half was played in their area. I thought he was pretty good.

Rob perhaps is because we had different views. I was behind our goal in the second half so could see all their attacks coming straight at us and Silvestre did not look comfortable at all.
