Anyone English & Good Enough?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yes!

He might play for England but he is technically not good enough to play for us right now. He's just another one of these players who get crowds excited by winning corners! Hallelujah!

Sorry to be picky. But we were singing YOU need more foreigners in reply to them singing "En ger land" to us. At least thats what I was singing, you know how these things are hard to understand at 1st.
And the "have you ever seen England play like this........ was very funny.
Fave chant at an away ground was when we sang one nil in the bernabeu when 1 .0 up at R Madrid. And I remember Man City fans giving us a chear for our song about posh spice and her push up bra.

I'm aware of that. It was an adaptation of the chant which I mentioned on an earlier thread; http://www.onlinegooner.com/phpbb2/view ... c&start=45

If they were at a fair price and it was a one off thing as normally I would go for better players and cheaper elsewhere.

Keepers: With Jens leaving in summer and Almunia not good enough, Foster to act as deputy/third choice, would still bring in another keeper to make it three. Problem is we produce shot stoppers rather then keepers and despite Joe Hart's great form for the U21's, don't think he will be a massive improvement though I do rate him.

Defenders: Richards as second choice right back and Rio for when Toure is away for Africa. This is England's strongest area, many quality defenders in the squad.

Midfielders: None thank you. Well maybe SWP to give us another winger but he can't do much with the ball, the only one that can is Beckham but he doesn't fit into our style of play.

Strikers: Owen is too injury prone, Rooney is starting to be and his habit of blowing it for England annoys me. Crouch or Heskey maybe if they were younger and playing as well as they do now

That sums Bentley up.He has found his level at Blackburn.Like Pennant did when he went to Birmingham. But he is not good enough for Arsenal his attitude stinks. Remember he pulled out of the Euro U21 tournament because he was tired. He left THOF because he thought he knew better than Wenger. He is a baby Beckham all style no substance

Beckham is a good player with a professional attitude, if traitor boy had half the attitude of his initial sake, he might have done far better then Blackburn.
