Dear "realists"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The countless "get ur wallet out wenger" "eboues etc shit" were totally mindless and lacked any sort of intellectual insight and is what you would expect on the redcafe or glory glory forum. Why would anyone be worried about man utd's and chelsea's aging stars whn we have a group of players in thier early 20's or younger getting better and stronger month by month. Real Madrid just got knocked out the champs league by Lyon, look at the state of Liverpool!?

The fact is theres more than one team in a competiton looking to win it, to expect us to move stadium and have the funds to replace every single invincible whilst maintaining a steady financial future is ludacris, and quite frankly if you can't see that the club an the team is now producing the fruits you must be blind.
So why did the club tell us that was exactly what was going to happen?

Wha you clearly don't get is that we all want the club to do well. Some of us accept that they're not always perfect.

Come Sunday May 23rd we'll all know the answer. Maybe even before ! :?

Until then you'd be well advised to keep your powder dry. We were in the CL Semis last year ! Remember ??? Remember what happened ???

All the great mental strength went out the window.

We led the title race in March 2 years ago ! Remember ????

Remember what happened ???

And it happened because the suggestion of some of us morons about reinforcing our defensive weaknesses via the transfer market, were and are ignored. And no, we aren't saying spend £90 million on one player but Shay Given for £6 million might have been a start.

Like I say, we'll see come the end of May.

Porto and Burnely are one thing. Man U/Chelsea/Inter or Barca something else.

i'm all in for discussing our club's future, if wenger is right or wrong or partially wrong, and everything else.

but we should stop with the realist vs rosetinter thing and with the "i told you so" of whenever we win or lose matches. it's boring imo. and that's me saying, the guy who was verbally fighting with monostich for a month

My opinion of the self proclaimed realists hasn't changed. They slag off nearly everything about the club, Manager, players, other fans, members of the board, shareholders out of ' interest ' and ' concern ' for thier club and are so sure that we won't win anything. On the other hand they claim they'll be happy if they're proved wrong and will no doubt celebrate with the rest of us. How they claim to be Arsenal I don't know.

The truth is they (realists) can't lose, no matter which way the season goes. This shows a serious lack of commitment. ( you know who you are and so do we  )

( I can hear them already, ' I'm a season ticket holder, I pay my money, this shows commitment !!!. Bollocks. If someone's fortunate enough to have the money to buy a season ticket then lucky them. But if someone doesn't it doesn't make them less of a fan. IMO)

funny, many of the so-called "realists" were the same ones who supported the club through some of the barren years, such as the mid 70's and early 80's, and it has absolutely nothing to do with money. that is commitment that i can only dream of. and by your posts, i highly doubt you would have even bothered with the club were we in that era.

as for me, i have a split personality... some days i am a rosetinter, others a realist. but always an Arsenal supporter. and i respect others who do as well, regardless of their stance. i don't care enough to be proven "right" or "wrong." we will all celebrate if we actually win, or rue the day we are eliminated.

I don't get the rosetinters v realists thing, either.
We all want Arsenal to do well and I'm sure we'd all willingly break a bloody leg to see us win something.
I think the realist thing is probably a defense mechanism for a lot of people to help them cope with the pain that occurs from time to time.
But that pain, to me, has always been a big part of being a Gooner.
I've never loved the club more than after some of our heartbreaking defeats.
If all I cared about were trophies then I'd support Rangers or one of the chequebook clubs.
I love the theatre and drama (and, yes, even the pain) of being an Arsenal fan.
When I was younger I worshipped everyone who wore an Arsenal shirt, but as I've got older I've found myself getting more critical of players who I don't believe are worthy of wearing the cannon (I'm looking at you, Manuel...).
So, I guess, as someone posted before, I'm a rosetinter AND a realist.
Does that make me schizophrenic..???

Has anyone seen that classic movie "Dawn of the dead"?
If so think back to the scenes with the zombies walking along in that stiff legged walk with arms oustretched and a vacant, gaumless look on their faces...........now, if you ever see anyone like that heading towards the grove on a matchday, give them a wide berth. It's probably Aaron Inglis

Wow, you really are the most stupid poster on here, and that's saying something...

Why do you so called "rosetinters" take it so personally? It's not about me being more right than you, ya gobshite (although that seems to be your prime motivator); it's about concern for the club. It's no coincidence that most (not all but most) "rosetinters" are from the younger generation that only know the Wenger years. Again - NOT ALL BUT MOST.

Most of the so called "realists" are from the older pre Wenger generation (again MOST, NOT ALL) and we have seen some truly awful times and fear seeing them again.

Lastly - you just make yourself sound like a totalo arsehole with statements like "and will no doubt celebrate with the rest of us. How they claim to be Arsenal I don't know." Who the fuck are you to question anyone's commitment or loyalty? Fuck you. I wonder if you had to sit through the shite of the 70's and 80's would you still be a Gooner?

Loyalty isn't about blindly agreeing with everything the club do or say.
