What would appease you for letting Cesc leave the club?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Questions do remain about where they would all fit in the team so you would hope AW would look to get something out of the Fab deal - perhaps Yaya Toure as a DM?
If not get as much money as possible because the squad already needs a serious overhaul, with Fab gone in will need completely re-building.
And Rooney

I think people should learn from Real Madrid, buying the worlds best doesn't automatically mean sucess.

Also I think people should learn from us, by not buying doesn't automatically mean success.

I am probably gonna get some stick for this, but here goes.

I wasn't sure which Cesc related thread to post this on, so I picked the one with the most replies.

I have just got off the phone with a senior Arsenal employee, who called me to let me know that no bid has been received from Barcelona, Cesc is not for sale, and Cesc does not want to leave.

When pressed about why there has been no official AFC response to these ongoing rumours, they trotted out the well worn 'we do not comment on transfer speculation' response. Wenger and Cesc have not even been in the same country at any point over the past week for the supposed meeting to take place.

There are still many unanswered questions, but I thought I would share this to try and bring us all back down to earth, and it appears the club are trying to get this message out there, albeit unofficially for now.

Anticipating some of the inevitable questions :

1. No, I will not name the source
2. I presume I was called as I have been 'known to the club' (not in a hooligan type way!) for a good few years now, and involved with many fans groups, fans forum, have written in the Gooner, etc.
3. I do know the person who called me pretty well in a professional capacity, and have no reason to believe this is anything but 100% true.

Let battle commence!

Just to add we halve no that no bid has been made as they're busy finalising the Villa deal.

i know its never going to happen,he may be a greedy lazy lanky..erm he's adebayor but white basically

but i do like him as a player and him in van persie together could be explosive..

nasri song toure arshavin
ibrahimovic van persie

does excite me a bit,a strong defensive base with power in the middle with some creativity on the wings plus 2 goalscorers up top.
