Goodbye Eduardo

He was the best finisher I've seen at Arsenal since Ian Wright. Never ever seemed to fluff a one on one and was capable of great goals (vs Sheffield United in the Carling Cup).
Sheff Utd in the Carling Cup was Vela wasnt it?

i always felt he was a first sub option,when robin and ade(at that time) were fit he would be on the bench,but was a good enough player to step in and do a decent job and offer a constant goal threat.

he barely missed a chance in his first season until the injury,absolute predator,the rest of his game was tidy but nothing to brag about..with the injury his confident went and then he stopped believing he could put it in the net :cry:

think this move is best for all really

Considering we are asking 7.5million Euros for a player who failed to shine last year is decent business and as much as I would have liked to have seen Eduardo do well he has just never got back to his pre-injury best.
I only hope AW will spend some of the money received - or will that be asking too much???

Football can be a cruel Game and the second that talentless twat Taylor went
through Eddie's leg was always going to be the beginning of the End for his Arsenal career but hopefully a new beginning will allow him to recover some confidence and regain his stature as a feared International striker .
Was it just me , since his return to fitness since that career threatening assault, that his appearance being sprung from the bench filled me with a sense of no confidence .
By that , i felt there was no real cutting edge to his game any more and that his appearance was not going to influence the game to any great degree .
He wasn't a real plan B as such . Indeed , i feel the same way about Vela ,
fine when we're a goal or two up against the lesser teams but ask him to step into the breach in a big game and i feel that he just won't change the game for us .
Through no fault of his own , Eduardo's Arsenal career remains largely
unfulfilled but will always be remembered fondly by all .

A real shame Eddie was never allowed the opportunity to develop at Arsenal.

this is a real shame i think we should of held on for another season or at least just have it a a loan.

I disagree with the claims that he wasnt cut out for the prem I thought he was a fantastic finisher very like Robbie Fowler and Ian Wright

Real shame really as before the broken leg he was beginning to score goals at ease and began to gel in the team but i think it's best for player and club.I think it showed last season when Wenger didn't use him whilst RVP and Bendtner were injured that he was going in the summer.

The injury is the reason he is no longer cut out for the prem. Before that, he was .
