DAY 1 OF QUITTING SMOKING

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

i listened to paul mackenna's quit smoking cd, you can torrent it, its about 20 minutes long. i listened to it in february and have never even wanted a fag since then and it really does feel like i never actually smoked, although i know i used to.

i've had the odd doobie since, which may still contain tabaco but the thing is i still couldn't stand having a fag, there is no point, a doobie has purpose a fag doesnt.

whatever method you use stay strong, the taste buds come back, the energy comes back, less fatigue its all worth it.

my only comment would be drop the inhaler immediately, it doesnt help with the something to do with hands issue smokers that quit have. also as with the patches they both contain nicotine which is highly addictive and the reason you continue to smoke, all you are doing is replacing one method of consumption with two, you do not need them.

Youre a git Flash, I've been having cravings all day! But I'll be strong and ignore them, enjoy your pipe!

I'm coming up on 15 weeks now Merse and I can tell you the cravings decrease. Until I opened this thread I'd hardly thought about it today.

Gday Merse can I just say you (along with the other gooners) have inspired me to give up along with my housemates, am currently on day two, and finding myself quite short of patience  not looking forward to the weekend  as this will be the testing time for me, can't see me not having a bevvy over the weekend, and a ciggy goes real good with a beer
How'd you go over the weekend mate?

Had a sneaky drag on Friday in Graz when very drunk and had legged it out of a pub. I had humiliated myself by giving a waitress a 10 euro tip for having big tits and told my mates in a loud voice that she'd be good at tit wanks and she was stood behind me!
Ran outside and saw 3 austrian kids, explained i'd given up for three weeks and really wanted a drag...one handed me his ciggy and it tasted vile so i gave it back to him!

I'm feeling much better for having quit and have even managed to complete my first ever fun-run this week. The weight is still a bit of an issue as work at the gym has been countered by being constantly hungry. I think it's gonna be a long road but I'm getting there and there is no reason anyone else cannot do it too.
Good luck to all those others that are trying this at the moment. :barscarf:
So thats why you've been such a grumpy old bastard.
As well as the other 8000 reasons I can think of
