Arsenal Fans

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Are we too ungrateful for constant european football?

No- I support arsenal because I want to experience victory but I'm too lazy to achieve it myself

He used to get terrible abuse from the terraces and stands alike, because he was shit, he played like a headless chicken, his cult status has only come about, because he's a good talker, and mixes it up with the Arsenal fans and media, this doesn't mean he was a good player, because he wasn't.

Did you ever see him play live?
My mum held a season ticket in the clock end in the 80s and said Perry Groves was one of the worst players she saw in the red and White along with Rapahel Meade?

I don’t see flappy in the same light as Perry. Yes Perry was shit but he was part of the team and everyone’s mate.
I stick by my words I think Wenger has turned into "a tosser" he cares about himself, the board and his stupid failed plan. His last thoughts are for the fans and for the real well being of the team. He is a liar and he has created a weak team of over paid non passionate players such as diaby, denilson, flappy who shouldn’t wear the arsenal shirt never mind get paid so much.
He refuses to admit he is wrong and fills us all with false hope for the last 6 years now! Enough is enough! 2-3 years I can take but not this long.
I am not sure if you go most matches Norris, but when you travel to places like Wigan and loose the way we did, it takes loads out of you and kills your spirit.
I’ve never known Arsenal football club to feel this way, yes we have a great stadium, are making lots of money, and are always in the top 4. But do we have spirit, crowd togetherness, a passionate heart warming club or a united love between players and fans. Not anymore and not even close. To be honest it’s very cold supporting Arsenal these days, and sadly Wenger and the board are to blame. They have taken away so much and replaced it with corporate crap attracting the prawn sandwich brigade that will line there pockets even further.
WENGER continues to frustrate the crowd with his team selection, his constant errors and his stubbornness in not buying crucial players. And all because “he feels players like flappy , denilson ect are goodâ€

Nah, not that bad, but he was best as an impact sub, last 20 minute run out when he could use his pace, get in a couple of crosses and maybe a goal.

Hmmm.... not the worst Sam, but he was just a squad player, very limited ability, but he did run his bollocks off for the cause, I quite admired that about him, so I didn't join in any dissent towards him (TBH I never do, but I can understand why others do it)

Raphael Meade, I actually remember him scoring a hat trick in one of his first games for us, I think it was against Watford, but I think he got caught up with a wrong crowd, I think he got accused of raping a girl and he was sent packing. He had plenty of pace, but little up top (reminds me of a current player actually) :?

I'm not saying I wasn't pissed off when almunia fucked us at birmingham , cuz I was there- and it fucking pissed me right off , but we still finished third. If we constantly finished 3rd or 4th in the mid seventies or eighties we'd have been happy . It just seems our fans are expecting too much....

It was 3rd in a very poor premiership (imo) last season, a bit of strengthening in the Jan window and we could have won it last season, 9 defeats shouldn't attain a 3rd position.

oh shut up,what a pointless comment to make.

what the fuck has what we did in the 70's got to do with what we do now??
we won everything in the 30's so should we expect to win everything now?
point is,wenger proved he's capable of buying decent players and actuallychallenging for trophies up till 05' but hasnt bought a single player of the same quality since then.

just about the worst thread i've ever read on here, and i've read most of ****'s

I've read a lot of disrespectful anti wenger comments on here recently to learn to take some posts with a pinch of salt. I'm not trying to start an argument but before I know it petty abuse is thrown at me.

people are pissed off because the fact is the issues/weaknesses that have been patently obvious for 4 years still have not been addressed when they couls and should have been

that is justification alone for slagging the team/manager off or whatever you want.

if these issues were addressed we couldnt complain as at least then the manager is doing his best to win. currenty he isnt. if he was he would have replaced mad jens and brought a proper centre back.

there can be absolutely no argument from even the most idiotic rose tinter about any of what ive written above, thus this renders this whole thread meaningless as ive blown your point out of the water.

Is the guy who wrote this thread a twat for saying were ungrateful?

I say fuck yes

No way am I ungrateful!!! I spend my hard earned cash and make my self skint in order to buy my season ticket and attend away matches. I spend even more fekin money on over priced food and beer in the concrete hole we call home.
I then spend money on sky just to watch arsenal when I get home. I spend money on the cuntin website just to watch shit coverage on ATV.
I stupidly buy Arsenal tops that cost £45 every season.
I spend train tickets costing £25 for each home match and then the costs of away matches up north.

If i want to moan about wankers like flappy then its my right like it is with other fans. It is also my right to be disgusted that we have not invested in the team yet again after telling us that it would happen.
One word......MUG :coffeespit: Someone should tell you that financial support does not a fan make  Daft people with deep pockets have helped to make football what it is today. These are the people they wanted to sqeeze more of into the new stadium and club shop. The people that line our shit players' ( you words, not mine ) pockets.

Word of advice - Use a little of all that money you're spending to do something worthwhile, rather than sit on a Forum all day. Or chuck me a few quid, I'm a bit skint at the moment

Brosif,

3rd or 4th in any decade other than the 00's and now the 10's didn't mean shit.

First was everything.

It was all that got rewarded.

AW is one of the best managers the prem has ever seen.....he has 'his way of doing things' -he has 'his project', he is a man of 'strong principles and beliefs' - he is human and has and is doing and will make mistakes...it just so happens that given his line of work...his decisions impact of many, many thousnads of people......

only he (and the board) know why he has not yet signed the players we desperately need (a GK, a CB and a Holding Mid-fielder).....we will win silverware agian before he decides to depart as Arsenal Manager.....(2014??).....I too like 99.99999% of Gooners am frustrated at some of his decisions etc...But I will publicly support him...and the players...except when they are utter Crunts ie: greedywhore, diarra (aka: Diarrhoea)...

:barscarf: COME ON YOU MIGHTY GUNNERS :barscarf:
