Based on that, the signing's a dead cert. In fact, it's probably what convinced Wenger to stump up the £4m!

It'll just be typical, sign him as our 37 year old saviour, and then he's out for 4-6 weeks... :cry:

This is weird..... If Almunia is 6 out of 10. The Aussie is 6.5/10.

Its true he's not the most amazing keeper in the world but he's better than what we have at the club and that's good enough for now.

Don't forget he'll have a more solid defence here than he had at Fulham or Australia and he's good with crosses so that's a good sign.

On the whole, I'd be happy if this one happens.

Ill feel a whole lot more comfortable if Schwarzer starts in goal on Sunday instead of Flappy, I know its not the 'keeper we would have had down as first choice but its a step in the right direction..

If this deal does go through and we add a centre back Ill be pleased..
