As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

mikey, you are of course entitled to your opinion and rest assured any comments I make are purely to encourage a discussion based on my feelings.
Furthermore, can you seriously envisage, in ten years time, the same amount of money being involved in the game? Are we not right to control our finances in an oderly manner to ensure that the future of the club is assured. We are all too greedy, it's a clear fact of life, we all want, want, want.
As the wise words say - all good things come to those that wait.
As Kroenke and Usmanov know only too well, as they wait for the fans to pay the stadium off, and then cash in with the rest of the board by selling to a wealthy consortium or private individual.
Our "sustainable model" will then be but a distant dream...

That's a possibility mate. Perhaps we should make an attempt to buy our club
selsdon wrote:And even when we proper shit I never classed reaching an FA Cup semi-final as success.
That is some serious barrel scraping you got going on there.
Perhaps a trip back to secondary school is on the cards for some of you...
Define success: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose
Our clubs aim is to be financially secure, which it seems to be.
Our clubs aim is to produce talented young players, which we do.
Our aim is to challenge for the league and champions league and maintain a champions league place at worst, which we do.
So whatever your definition of success is, it's completely wrong.
Don't wanna fall out with ya's so enough said huh!
Being financially secure isn't allowing us to have the basic squad requirements so what good is that? I aint got 20/30 years to wait for all other clubs to be extinct.
We haven't seriously challenged for the title in five years, and the champions league only once in our history.
Producing talented young players is a bit of a myth - Gibbs, Wilshere, who else has Wenger brought thru to be a 1st teamer? Cesc, Ramsay and Cole were all nicked from other clubs.
Anyway u believe the board and Wenger, I don't. Don't mean you can't buy a beer if ever we meet.

Indeed. Anytime mate.
Fair point about the waiting game, it is fustrating but perhaps I lead such a shite life that anything Arsenal do makes me happy!
I may disagree an opinion, but always respect a fellow supporter

Who are they ? Dont say cesc or rvp cos they were groomed by barca and feyoonord respectfully. Theo ? Dont make me laugh. Gibbs and Wilshire have proven nothing and although they do look like they have real potential so too did denilson, diaby and even bently This much heralded youth system is largely a pack of shit as far as I am concerned
I will also say that what we do each season is not seriously challenge for the league title or indeed the champs lge and I think that hand on heart you know that too
spot on M-50. some people around here need to learn respect for our manager. just because they don't agree with every decision he is made then apparently its ok to verbally abuse him. talk about acting like spoilt kids. I spoke to a villa fan about it and he was bewildered by it. you have to appreciate the work he has done for the club.
I'm like many of you in being pissed off about our shit goalkeeping situation , and the way we practically fold in any major cup final, but chanting songs for a man that has won us 7 trophies is a great way of showing support. And yes, if you disagree I would hope you fuck off and support the ****. I know it sounds stupid to say that but that is the kind of attitude that makes our ground the most quietest and unpassionate in the country. If you really detest arsene that much, you really are a plastic football fan.
villa fan...great comparison there, cos villa are really the same size club us our nowdays...how about asking a united or chelsea fan what they think, thats a more accurate equivalent.

Why don't you encourage Wenger to spend some of the hard-earned cash that we pay to the club, that needs to be spent...and "sort it out" -
You johnny come latelys are too precious to do that these days.

Agree with you Augie, we produce youngsters for other teams, they either go on loan or are sold, after a couple of Carling Cup performances, our much 'vaunted' youth program is not as good as it's made out to be, you've only got to see how many players have progressed, it's a very small percentage.
