Who the f*** are these people....

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Brian Clough.

Elevated Nottingham Forest to some heady days. They were a small club historically, but won league titles, European Cups, FA Cups, all under the guidance of Clough.

Then the glory days stopped coming. But Clough was still manager.
And Forest started slipping down the First Division. But Clough was still manager.
The last major silverware (ignoring the League Cup) they won was in 1980 (their second successive European Cup). Clough was still in that job, until resinging 13 years later, the season Forest were relegated.
That's a great example actually. Just goes to show where blind faith in a manager who's previously been successful can lead you. And he actually won the European Cup.

To the AKB brigade - doesn't this instance highlight that whilst you can still 'respect' your manager for past glories, if that's all that it is - the PAST - then isn't it best to move on, rather than continue dwindling in a downward spiral?

Another c**t of the highest order!
What a hilariously amusing and well reason argument. And so eloquently put by such an obviously highly educated member of MENSA.

Thank you for reminding me why it was I stopped reading this Forum. Should you ever require your brain cell to be recycled may I recommend the Park Lane branch of the Scum-R-Us Gynaecological Unit.

Oh, they also want Wenger to stay our manager for as long as possible, because they know we're no threat to them whatsoever... :x

That's bollocks!! Do I have to bring up the Alex Song Fulham game example again?
Bring up what you like - breakfast, lunch, last night's keebab, whatever.

The Fulham game in question is the one that proves the rule about regular away fans being superior supporters. Fulham tickets are always the easiest to get and as you well know far more fans can and do travel to Fulham than any other venue because it is close enough for the lazy feckers who never travel north of Watford. And so the Fulham game invariably attract large numbers of part-time away fans.

Not all regular away fans are saints but the generalisation that they are better fans is a no brainer.

The Wenger slaggers btw are a bunch of brain dead morons similar to those who crucified Song. Sure he's no saint but under him we still play some brilliant football on a fairly regular basis.

The time to moan will be if we haven't purchased a keeper and central defender by transfer deadline. Until then give it a rest.
Oh Christ... another Superfan...

And can we really have your permission to moan after the transfer deadline? Really? Aw thanks!

I spoke to a villa fan about it and he was bewildered by it. you have to appreciate the work he has done for the club.

I'm like many of you in being pissed off about our shit goalkeeping situation , and the way we practically fold in any major cup final, but chanting songs for a man that has won us 7 trophies is a great way of showing support. And yes, if you disagree I would hope you fuck off and support the y**s. I know it sounds stupid to say that but that is the kind of attitude that makes our ground the most quietest and unpassionate in the country. If you really detest arsene that much, you really are a plastic football fan.
