Sportsmen who went on too long
Sportsmen who went on too long
Being thinking about this today in the light of Flintoff retiring. Dont half wring it out some of these guys dont they. Pretty obvious he was hanging on for a last great pay day at the IPL. Thinking of a list of people who went on just a tad too long.

I think Larry Holmes was also in the ring a lot longer than he should of been, he was a great fighter and never really got the respect he deserved.flash gunner wrote:Muhammed Ali... I remember watching one of his final fights against Larry Holmes and my dad saying how pitful it was to see him like that. If i remember rightly Larry Holmes seemed to not want to hit him in the end as he was beating up a hero of his

Yeah i agree he got battered by Tyson when he was way over the hill. He does deserve more respect but fought in a time with few decent opponents and so soon after Ali, Frazier, Foreman era which was probably the best ever for Heavyweight boxingOnly One Tony Adams wrote:I think Larry Holmes was also in the ring a lot longer than he should of been, he was a great fighter and never really got the respect he deserved.flash gunner wrote:Muhammed Ali...
