Chill out - we can't change things. What will be, will be.

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

its painfully obvious , he's been posting the same fucking post for months :banghead: :banghead:
NIce - I guess loyal supporters don't want to do anything about the state of the club. They enjoy being disappointed constantly I guess.
That would be one fucking sad troll to spend so much time on so many posts.

I have to disagree. Not a troll. Can we all just calm down FFS?
Yeah this is getting a bit OTT just now.

I just wish Quartz could answer that one very simple straightforward question. Apparently he can't or won't.
I think he just wants to end this conversation.

Why all this bloody infighting? If you don't like it just scroll down!!!

I'm sure he wants to end it SWL - because he can't answer my question without admitting the Board mis-led supporters. That'd be fine but the next time these discussions arise he'll offer the same B.S. then cut and run when he's called on it...this is hardly the first nor will it be the last time probably.

I reckon you two should keep it to PMs mind.. or maybe we could get a "Friend and Foe" system like a few other phpbb2 forums have. Mean you wouldn't see each others posts.

QuartzGooner wrote:USMartin does not let a discussion come to a natural conclusion, so threads just descend into repetition.

Most normal threads come to a natural conclusion and then drop down the Forum to page 2 and others take their place.

But USMartin uses cynical techniques to try and bait others to keep posting:

1- THE INSULT

By insulting you he hopes you will come back at him.

2 - THE DISTORTED PARAPHRASE

He will twist your words and then write something claiming others have said it.
Except they never said it.
So then one is forced to set the record straight, and keep the discussion going.

3 - THE OUT OF CONTEXT QUOTE

He will drag up a quote from a previous thread, and drop it in the new thread, out of context.
Once again, one is forced to set the record straight, and keep the discussion going.

4 - THE QUESTION

He will ask a question and demand an answer on his terms. It might be demanding a "Yes or No" answer even when a question has already been answered, or a simple demand to answer it again.

Then there are the ways he tries to attract people into his debate.

5 - THE SCARE TACTIC

He claims that the club are in big danger of descending into hell, because of lack of spending.
Possibly we will drop out of the top four, possibly not. But there is little to suggest a Liverpool like situation.

6 - THE CONSPIRACY

He will mention how the directors are all in league with each other to con the fans and force share prices up.
Despite our shares not being sold on the main stock exchange, and their value being intrinsincly linked to actual demand for people to buy them.

Those who are unaware of this share listing might get fooled into a notion of conspiracy.

7 - THE FILIBUSTER

Repetetive, lengthy posts on the same subject.
Some casual forum users may get fooled into thinking something really urgent is going on with the club, and that USMartin is a oracle of secret information, and qualified in high finance.

Yet the fact remains USMartin has never attended a board meeting, and is not privy to the minutes of board meetings.
So he knows nothing more than any of the rest of us.

8 - THE "I HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT MY FEARS" EXCUSE

Despite lengthy reptitive posts on "The Board", spread over a number of Forums since 2005, USMartins sole actions have been a letter to the club, and an online petition.

No Youtube channel, No Facebook Campaign, No Myspace campaign, No Twitter account.
Does that tell you something about how disorganised this guy is in his protests?

All these reasons and more are why I will not answer him!!!!!!

Enter into a "discussion" with him at your peril, and sign away hours of your life.
But aside from that he is a great person to have a debate and chew the fat with, yes? :?

First off I hear Adam Ant each time you to that

Second you may be right - it's too bad, though. We should be able to have an honest gnuine debate on some of these matters where the facts matter equally to all sides. I don't see why some people just can't do that.

Quartz is right - I don't know every last fact or detail. The thing is neither does he or anyone else. The difference is simple I want to know more and Quartz and others simply don't and that speaks volumes.

Quartz and others believe that becaiuse I don't know every last piece of information that might support my views they simply can't be true, but because they don't know every last piece of information that might support their views they simply must be true.,

I may or may not be righ about any or all of thist. By the same token Quartz may be right or wrong about it the same way. So why is he so much less eager to find out for sure? And not just him?

Martin, I have to say I find your obsession with the Arsenal board quite disturbing.

Do you know something we don't? Or are you just speculating like the rest of us?? You've gone to great lengths in your bid to convince this forum that all our problems are down to the board and only the board.

I find it hard to believe that the board are forcing Wenger to play Flappy and Average for example, or play 4-5-1 when we're 3 nil down to West Brom at home.

I think everyone would agree that the board aren't doing everything in their ability to ensure that we succeed on the pitch, but your constant and never-ending barrage at them is getting quite tedious.

As far as I'm concerned, Wenger is far more blameable for our on-pitch woes than anyone on the board.

I understand and respect that you have your own views on things, and I have both agreed and disagreed on some of them, but imo you're taking it too far; it's just the way you go on and on about the same boring topic in every thread. It is unhealthy my friend.

Bollocks does it speak volumes.

You say you want to know more, but you don't really. You just like endlessly repeating yourself on internet forums. That's not seeking the truth, that's just a way of filling your days.

As for your petition - the fact you've made no effort to publicise it outside of this forum has proved it was nothing but a hollow gesture, and your heart really was never in it. 12 signatures in how many weeks? or how many months? TWELVE SIGNATURES??? seriously, a girl guide would have beaten that by going door to door on one street in one afternoon! and THAT speaks volumes of how seriously you consider your own campaign, Martin!

You spend all your efforts trying to belittle Quartz. But who cares about him? he's a faceless nobody in cyberspace? (sorry Quartz   ) - does his opinion mean that much to you? and even if he accepts you're totally right, was it worth the effort? the hours you've put in that could have been spent on your campaign?? no, not even close!
USMartin wrote:Quartz and others believe that becaiuse I don't know every last piece of information that might support my views they simply can't be true, but because they don't know every last piece of information that might support their views they simply must be true.
And there's that tactic Quartz was on about - you're baiting him, by talking bullshit so he replies.

Has Quartz EVER said his views simply must be true??? really??? - are you trying to mislead us, or outright lie to us, just like the evil, crooked board?? you wouldn't stoop so low, surely?!
USMartin wrote: I may or may not be right about any or all of thist. By the same token Quartz may be right or wrong about it the same way. So why is he so much less eager to find out for sure? And not just him?
Because he's not as obsessed with finding out something that we'll never be able to find out.

In any case, as I said earlier, apart from endlessly repeating yourself on the internet, a fail to see evidence of how eager you really are to finding out the truth.

You're an obsessive personality. Not just with the board, but with Quartz, and no doubt your private life in the 'real world' has followed a similar obsessive pattern. You can't let go. It's a drug. It's not normal, I assure you!
