Pires back at Arsenal

i never get tired looking at this goal, take a bow son!

My favorite Bobby moment was his goal away at Anfield during the invincible season, which was followed up by a passionate team celebration (don't happen much these days). For me, that goal and the sheer quality and importance of it cemented his Arsenal Legend status.

Found it. What a goal:

Love the celebration as well. You can just FEEL the passion.

If only, Wenger would never go back on his decsion now, espeically after the C.L. Final of 2006...!!! Would be great though... :D

Arsène Wenger says he is more concerned with getting injured players back than re-signing fellow countryman Robert Pires.

The Frenchman has been training with the Club at London Colney as he continues his quest for fitness after his summer release from Villarreal.

Sol Campbell re-joined Arsenal in January after a similar arrangement but Wenger insists that Pires will not follow in his former team-mate’s footsteps.

Funny how this quote from Pravda has been ignored

We will respect our wage bill and we will not go above what we have planned financially with the players

Agaiin our beloved wage structure helps decide the make-up of the team

In fact Mr. Wenger said that would continue to be the case(and that the wage structure would comtinue to overpay the young players and underpay the best players) until the new stadium is fully paid.

Putting aside whether that is truly a necessary policy given the annual claims to the contrart by our Board then either our Board has consistently and deliberately mis-led us all the way back to 2005 about the club's ambitions, or Mr. Wenger has lied about the Board and would I would believe be subject to immediate dismissal as manager for insubordination, no?

You guys make me fucking laugh, moaning about not signing a 36 year old attacking midfielder.

Where is he going to play, we have space to 2 players in this position we currently have:

Arshavin
Walcott
Nasri
Rosicky
RvP
Wilshere
Vela

Who can all play there, why would we sign pires, yes a great great player in his day and was sold far to early but we dont need him now.

If we have buffon on trial and reject him then all fucking moan but about us not re-signing pires get a fucking grip.

You guys just want to find anything negative and its getting fucking boring reading all your bitching threads :banghead:

We have a wage structure, just like every other club. We already know that - Gazidis had talked about it and so has Wenger. That comment couldn't be less controversial if it tried.

Nothing new to debate here.

Well, obviously!   Apart from Citeh, that's probably the case with every other club on the planet!

Again, nothing new to debate here either.

Nothing you haven't said a million times before.

So again, nothing new to debate.

Next!

Walcott and RVP are forwards and who knows when they'll play again. Of the rest inconsistent to a man - Wilshere is the most consistent of them and if we're honest while I have no doubt he will come good right now we need some consistent goal threat. And from that list only Arshavin qualifies and is available now(though Nasri is heading in the right direction)

But I think the really worrying is not that we will not sign Pires but WHY we will not - again profits seem the higher priority.

"We will respect our wage bill and we will not go above what we have planned financially with the players"

And this means your Buffon scenario will end the same exact way unless he is willing to join on 30-50K a week or less. How many times do we have to hear that wages are driving the construction of this team before we finally start to ask some reasonable questions about why that in fact is the case and how excatly this poolicy actually benefits Arsenal Football Club and the football team representing Arsenal FC.

He wont sign him because we dont fucking need him. Do you really think a 36 year old pires would get into our team ?

I dont think he would even make the bench let alone in the first team, so i agree with wenger why waste the money, for old times sake?

I mean we all wanted vieira back, looks how shit he looks at city.

Nice straw-man argument there.
