Pretty gutted tonight. Travelled up at 4pm with my Dad (who was able to get a ticket for the game for a mere £5, now that he's classified as an 'OAP'), and the train lost power and was sat in pitch black for an hour. We weren't able to leave it for two hours, as it was in between stations, and by the time we did, had no choice but to go home. And it wasn't even on TV. Ah well, watching Man Utd get beaten is always enjoyable, and there will be other times.
Good luck to everyone else getting home tonight.

Hopefully summer decides to be summery before then!corkbarry wrote:Hi Ram,
My Daughter and her Family are spending Christmas and New year in Sydney, say hello if you see them. They will probably be wearing W Ham shirts![]()

Not sure I'll see anyone over Christmas myself, I think yesterday was my last day/night off until Christmas Day.

We drove to Orpington station and got on there. The train broke down on the way to Petts Wood. Just sat there in pitch black for a good hour or so. As it was a single track, all the trains behind us were cancelled. A lot of Arsenal fans travel up on this line, so there's no way they'd have made it. Still, managed to get the lesser-spotted train fare refund at the end of the evening, which helped somewhat.kingjayson1 wrote:Where abouts was you coming from?Bring Back Pires wrote:Pretty gutted tonight. As someone who sat snowbound in Dublin airport for 7 hours last January (and missed the Everton game) I feel your pain, mate.Bring Back Pires wrote:Pretty gutted tonight. Delayed 6 hours in Gatwick last Saturday, add that to the fact that my flight from Porto landed at 9.30am and my 1.35pm flight didn't leave until 7.40pm it was a long bloody wait. On the plus side I got to see the Arsenal-Villa game, on the negative side I also got to see 2 bloody rugby matches and the end of a tennis gameDB10GOONER wrote:As someone who sat snowbound in Dublin airport for 7 hours last January (and missed the Everton game) I feel your pain, mate.Bring Back Pires wrote:Pretty gutted tonight.
