England 2018 World Cup bid

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ok, so FIFA decided that our bid was weaker than Russia? Portugal/Spain? and Holland/Belgium???

There's no way that's legit, surely? - The media have fucked us over royally on this one :x

That's it - Panorama and the BBC are going on the c**t thread! :banghead:
That's right , FIFA being dishonest and corrupt isn't why we lost but because the media including The Sunday Times were out of order exposing it.. ......unless you are being funny in which case apologies

- that really made me chuckle - with a wry smile too which is a little worrying.

I think Adrian Durham on TalkSpite is trying to blame Arshavin and Arsenal - well it had to be our fault didn't it!

Isn't there a serious crime problem over in Brazil? Which would only worsen by the influx of tourists that would be seen as easy prey? I imagine that would be the primary reason in stopping people from going over there.
It depends on which point of vision you take.

If you take the point of vision of an european used to explore the other countries, maybe you're right. But be sure we're going to take the places of some european countries in next few years.

And be sure we're going to have the most beautiful WC here. Something you never saw, and we're going to teach the world how to behave inside the stadiums.

OMG, now they are saying Arshavin shouldn't be welcomed in England after supporting Russia for the 2018 WC!

How SH*T is british media! it really makes me laugh!

Arshavin is RUSSIAN, why would he support England's bid?

:?: :D

People are just being silly with all this blame game...didn't Paris had everything ready for Olympics 2012 and it was given to London because of this great idea of 'development'...now same thing had happened with Russia and Quatar...so I say good luck to them...
