I got my numbers a bit wrong but Qatar's population is 1.6m, their country is smaller than Yorkshire. How are they going to be able to manage with 400,000 people flooding into their country at once.

Ice, Im not that bitter, Im just astounded and disgusted that something like this can happen in the modern age.

Iceman, I know you have a hard-on for Qatar, because you went there on holiday, or your brother lives in a country near to it, but would you deny that the compelling reason for FIFA executive to choose Qatar was money - after all, they had an average FIFA inspection.

I think I would have prefered a country that has tried, and tries, to insitute a football culture, than one that sees the World Cup was an affirmation of itself in the world.

Just because the Middle East hasn't had a world cup, does not mean it deserves it, and it is clearly not compelling reason enough. I have yet to see a compelling argument for Qatar.
So only Ingurland has those :?: Are they the only country that tries to institute a culture at grass roots level?
So what if Qatar doesn't deserve it, why does anyone deserve it more? If quality comes up, I have to disagree with the English bid then  Netherlands actually has a brilliant "grass-roots" level of football.
I'm not comparing to England, so why do you as well deflect attention by talking about another country? I think it shows that a defence of Qatar is extremely difficult, if you have to look at other's weaknesses rather than the winner's strengths.
England and Qatar were not biding for same World Cup

2022 was always going to be between Australia and Qatar. It was 50/50 thing.

England lost and the citizens of this country need to accept that and stop being bitter about it. I am gutted as well but they lost and its time to move on.
i was just playing the "is it fair game".

Is it fair that gays will be locked up in qatar???
Dont over hype it. Nothing like that is going to happen. Stop reading so much in to things
Homosexuality is illegal, just shocking really.
So how are you gonna flaunt your homosexuality there? Any different from people flaunting there heterosexuality? Just don't do your business on the beach or bus-stop and you'll be fine
No public drinking or shows of emotion allowed either.

But it shoudn't have been. Australia are a great sporting nation, one of the best in the world. The olympics were fantastic.

I am going to quit this debate. I am excited about attending the 2022 world cup with my future wife and children (provided I am still alive then). 12 years and counting!

Like I said is a complete disgrace, Im only focussing on Qatar because that what was being debated.

They should have promised testicle coolers at stadiums as Qatar did. :barscarf:

Good riddance, I used to like you but now I have realised that you are nothing more than a troll, saying whatever you know will wind up certain people. :(

Calm down mate! I am not winding anybody up here. I thought this was a good debate. Just because we disagree on something we should not let this affect our relationship. For the record I still like you. I disagree with a lot of my friends, doesn't mean that we dislike each other. I'm sorry you feel that way.
