Saw ex Arsenal player today

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ah yes, I remember now a tame shot from Poyet after Super Rob had given us the lead with customary goal at WHL.

It only goes to show when a dream move for a young player goes wrong it can fuck your career sideways.

See what happens if you stay off the beer?

A clear and sensible post.

Seriously. Couldn't agree more. Richard Wright was fucking amazing before we signed him. The season before we did, he must have made about 20 saves as Ipswich lost 1-0 at Highbury.

If I recall he put a clause in his Ipswich contract saying he could leave but only if Arsenal came in for him.

Wenger fucked him over in the Cup Final, benching him after he played every game en route.

One that got away for me. 8)

He was as bad as Flappy imo and Wenger didn't hesitate to get rid of him. Why didn't he do the same to Flappy?

100%. If a manager f%cks about with a guy when he's in form, its bound to affect him. i would be a wenger fan, but he made a bum call there.

Memory is a bit hazy now but am sure Wenger wanted to keep him but Richard Wright wasn't prepared to be number 2 to David Seaman for another season so he asked to leave
