As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Why adidas?
best shirt designs, plus they'll respect the tradition of the club, and the best arsenal shirts have been adidas. 3 reasons mofo

Some things in life ain't just about the money. With Adidas we never had a problem with kits in the way that we do with Nike.
Even the crushed banana kit, at the time was bad, but Adidas had the forsight to see it would become legandary.

Agreed
Agree with the last point, but on the second… will they? Adidas are no more virtuous than Nike or any other conglomerate. Bottom line for them all is pure & simple to shift as many shirts as possible. Which often means making each kit as different from the last one as they can get away with. Ultimately, surely Arsenal retain the right to veto any kit designs put forward by the manufacturer, so the club’s more to blame for the white away kits, and the Charlton home kit etc.
Nike, Adidas, Bukta … have no loyalty to the traditions of the club (why would they?), just to their own shareholders. They’re employed/commissioned by the club (who obviously do, or at least should, have a loyalty to those traditions) so that’s where the responsibility lies.
Adidas gave Manure a light(ish) blue away kit in the 90s with the Adidas shell logo plastered all over it. The bruised banana kit looked like some Adidas-sponsored Toblerone had jizzed all over it - although I agree with Boomer nostalgia’s made it a retro classic. The 3 stripes on the sleeves of every single kit they make is branding 101. Whether you think it looks good or not is another matter, but it’s obviously sod all to do with each club’s traditions & everything to do with their own interests. Or are the stripes a symbolic tribute to the stripes Henry Norris earned in the first world war? Nike’s kits are shite but let’s not kid ourselves Adidas will be any different. All football kits these days are pretty much *****. I've no idea why I'm ranting.

However, I can't really see us switching from the Yanks to the Germans to be honest
Never heard the song? "History, no history! You still ain't got no history!"
Chelsea's there to be fucked up.
Anyway, the chavs have always had really poor away kits. See Adidas keeping the tradition.
I recall the grey and orange kit. It looked like waking up at 1pm realising you'd fallen asleep infront of the TV back in the 80's.

Atleast they stuck to the basics.
Red shirt, white sleeves. And Yellow and blue for the away.
I didn't care much about the V's on the sleeve or 3 stripes coming down from the shoulder. These were minor tweeks and yes they benifited Adidas in blatant logo's amongst the shirt but it was still Arsenal.

Again though, ultimately the club provide the brief, set the parameters & make the final decision surely? Since we last had Adidas as our manufacturer the game has changed, & the objectives of the board re: kits with it. It’s a bigger business now & there’s different agendas. All I’m saying is I don’t see Adidas as any more likely to “respect the traditions of the clubâ€

I agree they are as likely to stay with the traditions of the club as Nike, the scousers and chavs have had illuminous (or illuminous trimmed) kits recently but after the Nike abominations recently id like to give Adidas a try for a few years
