exactly right. i cant stand watching him play.

Aslo when i saw the match on tv, his face said it all as he walked off the pitch.

Still chewing his gum. He really didnt give a fuck. A striker should really care if he dont score. Barry dont care at all

Not much really to add to that except why oh why is Chamakh on the bench when he is clearly our best striker at the moment and has fitted into our system and English football very well! Beggars belief  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Fair enough but what if the new manager still has to to work with our ass-backward post-2005 wage structure which makes signing genuine proven talent that's over 16 basically impossible. What then? Why do we do? What does Arsenal do? And what do Arsenal's supporters do?
We won titles and trophies before Arsene came and am sure that we will after he is gone when he sets up home with his french bit on the side!
I don't think anyone would disagree with that. Arsenal is the only club to have success across as many decades of history in fEnglish football as it has.

The point is this. Is winning the league once every seventeen years enough? Is that enough after Arsene Wenger showed we could with proper ambiton win it virtually every other year and finish in the top two every year for nearly a decade? And by proper ambition we aren't talking spending 50 million a year or paying our top players 250K a week each.

So yes if we win the Premiership again under another manager as we almiost certainly will at some point I'll be thrllled then but will that point not being until 2016 or 2022 be simply fine by you and the fact that we could with a bit more ambition have not suffered such a drought simply be fine by you?

Felt sick allday about such an abject performance last night but after reading through most of this thread I'm suprised how many posts were made actually during the game.....I have an image of a gooner wearing red/white bobble hat/scarf, one eye on the box and other on his laptop "comentating" on the action

I may be getting old but find this very weird.

The bigger disgrace are the sheep who blindly worship him and think he can do no wrong. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Chippy wrote:Zippy I have edited your post. We are very tolerant on here but words like that shouldn't be used to insult others. You are wrong about "Sky era, plastic fans". The vast majority of "realists" on here have been around for a long time. If you hate this place so much, I would guess most people here wouldn't be remotely upset if you didn't post again.

Martin, you had started to make non-board, short comments on other threads and I thought you might have turned a corner, but no. Do you not realise how much you are pissing off some people on here?

In general peeps please remember this place is firstly about having a bit of fun and a laugh. If you think what's posted on here is hugely important and it will make the board sit up and listen or it is responsible for all Arsenal fans getting a reputation, get real!
So it's alright to call wenger, denilson and whoever else a *word censored*, unmoderated, but it's not alright to use the word spastic? Interesting.

Your last paragraph is sort of my point exactly. Football is supposed to be fun and a laugh, yet 80% of the posts are just moangroanwhingemoanmoangroanwhingingmoaning. It's fucking tiresome.

What people say on here and another notable Arsenal forum is clearly feeding the ever-growing "throw a tantrum after EVERY bad result" crowd. If it was limited to just what's written here I wouldn't give a toss, but it influences people who then go and abuse the players on twitter, or ring 6-0-6 to say "wenger out". I then have to go and sit next to these people and people influenced by it week in-week out at games and they ruin it for me and everyone around them with there incessant moaning and grumbling. I also then have to work with them, or fans of other clubs who listen to 6-0-6 and whatever else and are incredulous that there are people who ACTUALLY want Arsene Wenger sacked.

So I do believe it does influence people, and it also influences results ultimately because - like against man city - the crowd gets on the players back. Therefore I feel the need to rally against it with a bit of positivity and genuine perspective, and I don't really feel I should apologise if that upsets people along the way, coz it's sort of the point.

Final word from my mate Loz, a spers ST holder in the park lane end, following post-game radio phone in last night:

"99% of football clubs, especially spurs, don't usually deserve the unified, passionate and committed support they get from their fans. Arsenal are the 1% that are the exact opposite".

All due respect I’ve never understood why people make this point. Fans of other teams barely pay a fraction of the attention to goings-on at Arsenal that we do. Just like (all things being relative) we don’t really pay any mind to their teams. They don’t watch every single game we play. At most they’ll see the odd live game & MoTD highlights, which let’s face it never really reflect the game that accurately. They don’t necessarily see the same mistakes/weaknesses repeating themselves ad infinitum. Or all the little details that add up to form the bigger picture.

Besides, just cos say a Wolves fan would love to have Wenger instead of McCarthy doesn’t mean we should automatically be happy with our lot. We’re Arsenal, they’re Wolves, we have different standards & expectations. That’s not conceited, it’s just the reality of the situation. If you had your pay cut below what you could/should be making would you just accept it & be happy on the basis that someone somewhere else is only on minimum wage & would love to earn what you make? Even if realistically they couldn’t do your job?

Only issue should be is Wenger doing the job that he feasibly should & could be doing? If you think yes then fair enough, although I cant see how. If you think he’s not then who gives a fuck what fans of other teams think?

So a spurz fan praises the “passionate, committedâ€

Yet another insult from Wenger - blames last night on playing too many games.

When asked if he was going to sign someone a couple of weeks ago he said 'no, we have a big squad, we can cope'

Well Arsene, make your mind up, we either have a squad who can cope with the games (as all other clubs do) or we can't cope and need to make some signings! Stop the bullshit and take some action!

pretty amazing that somebody on an Arsenal message board gets more opprobrium for defending/supporting the team than those that hate the manager, the players, other fans who are too positive - not just hate but frequently attack in an ad hominem fashion
and this is not just from other posters but from mods

ffs I've seen unedited unmoderated posts specifically fantasising about violence toward our players and our fans

yet zippy gets edited
unfuckingbelievable

No passion
No pride
No committment to winning the ball back.
Half hearted jogging back to defend.
No invention
No attempt to take players on (even when they have been booked Theo)

The lack of application from some was shocking.

Ipswich had a couple of close calls prior to the goal - it was there for all to see. Well done to them.

I didn't hear any chants at all of "Only 1 Arsene Wenger"

Absolute pile of shite.................. I'm off to bed.
Stuart mate. I am so, so sorry for letting you use my memberships. I'll make it up to you one day, I really will..... !
I am happy to accept tickets to the Champion League Final as compensation :) Cheers again MK .

I think you'll find calling someone a spastic is a pretty unpleasant ad hominem attack. It wasn't modded cos it might offend those attacked but because it might offend those members of the forum with disabled friends and relatives.
