Best Football Stadia

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Went to Marseille a couple of times when I was a kid (me mother has got relatives there)... Me dad brought me to a few games, managed to get us tickets in the kop although it was sold out (well actually you enter the ground without tickets, you've got ultras grooming the stewards, you give them 50 sovs and then you pray you won't get caught!!!).
The atmosphere is fuckin' class like... And crackin' city

Stade Velodrome, that's the stadium where Dennis Bergkamp scored his legendary World Cup goal versus Argentina in 1998. :barscarf:

Already have Wembley, Highbury, The Grove and The Dell. They do look smart dotted all over the house 8)

Mate you are a legend. I've been googling that for nearly an hour with no luck at all. At 45 euros I'll have to save up for a bit, but the link is saved onto my favourites ready :)

This is one of my favourite...called Kind Fahd Stadium..and is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia...the idea of the design is to show the traditions of Saudi Arabia and it was done so by building on a shape of a tent..here r some pics of it...

Not sure that they'd be described as the "best" but some that i'd like to visit;

Toumba Stadium (PAOK)

We played here in the UEFA Cup in about 1997. Meant to be loud & intimidating as fuck.

Kleanthis Vikelidis (Aris)

Citeh played there last week, the bastards

Stadion Poljud (Hajduk Split)

Westfalen Stadion (Borussia Dortmund)

Stade Louis II (Monaco)

Fritz Walter Stadion (Kaiserslautern)

Estadio Mestalla (Valencia)

Cocodrillos Park ( Sounds like one for the Tennis Clique!)

Aalesund Stadium, Norway

Never been a fan of the Stade Louis II stadium. Think it looks too small and also never liked the arches at the end.

I agree, it is on the small side. I don't mind the arches personally, think it gives it something a bit different. Probably lets out a lot of noise though, although I don't imagine it to be the rowdiest of grounds  I guess they're all drinking martinis & talking about yachts...

I spend a lot of time on www.worldstadiums.com , www.stadiumguide.com and www.footballgroundguide.com just find stadiums so interesting.

Love any purpose built football stadium, particularly ones with 4 different stands, any big single tiered stands are also brilliant.

Not huge grounds but St James' Park in Exeter and Kingfield Stadium in Woking both have great single tiered stands behind the home end, brilliant. The issue with both of them is the rest of the ground is rubbish!
