Just heard my little nephew bawled his eyes out on Sunday, just like I did when I was his age in 88.

Of course I enjoyed a league win a year later, I bet he doesn't.

I forgot to mention the final game at Highbury against Wigan actually in addition to Zaragoza for different reasons. I sat in the clock end just staring out at the pitch, didn't want to leave, tears started streaming down my face knowing that that was it...the place of so much of my great childhood and teenage memories would be torn down and gone forever. All my family had been going there for years, my late father had gone there and that was it...just got too much

Cried during the final match at Highbury. Funny but I was there for the NLD right before that and didn't cry a bit - that day, I was too angry about their cheap tactics. THough I did cry there when I went back and saw a local tournament being played before virtually no one and realized I would never see Arsenal play there again. Hit me hard and by surprise really.

After a loss. never. Just haven't . Have been reduced to complete and utter silence for hours at a time. You read my posts   so its not too hard to imagine that is not me normally. The worst the last day in 1999 when s***s rolled over at the mancs and couldn't even sit up or speak a single intellibgle word for about six hours.

Nothing wrong with crying

Post by Herd »

Cried or at least welled up when I walked past saw Highbury being knocked down.
After the Wigan game it was many months before any demolition had occurred so when it did it felt like someone in my family had died .

Cried when my sons were born ,with joy I've cried when I've lost close friends to illness, accident, or violence !

I get all watery when I see the atrocities committed in our name in Afghanistan and Iraq, and when I see the tragedy that is Africa.

Nothing wrong with tears fellow Gooners ,however we live in a media savvy world where your match day crying will be recorded and then blasted all over the internet by your enemies similar to the Milky Bar Kid shown in this link.

Now I realise that your all new men in touch with your feminine side and I'm just an old wum, troll, blakey whatever but but if you honestly feel that blubbing like a child whose had his play station taken away ,at Wembley isn't highly embarrassing to the Arsenal then your clearly not going to be on my Christmas card list......thats all !

95'. Nieme from the Halfway line. My dad got tickets, told school I was sick & took me to Paris for it. Was my first Final/away day since Andy Lineghan scored against Shef Wed and I was proper blubbing after....was only 9 at the time...fucking Nieme the crunt! I've learnt to channel the pain after that as I've got so used to that feeling! :banghead:

I don't think I've ever cried after a result, but I have definitely shed a tear or two at Highbury, probably during the Rocastle video montage shown a few weeks after he passed away, and after the final Wigan game.

I may also have cried with joy when TA smashed one home in the last minute against Everton in May '98.

I've never cried after a football game and I think I never will. The European final in Paris was by far the most disappointing moment since I've been supporting Arsenal. But I had other things to worry about, because two days after that game I had my first school exam in secondary school. Couldn't get that final out of my head the day before the exam, but for some reason the result was the highest of all my exams. Accidentally, the exam was French...

Football means a lot to me, but not everything. When we lose a game, I'm very disappointed or angry, but I can get over it pretty soon because I've got nothing to worry about in my personal life. However, I'm still angry about the World Cup final, can't get that picture out of my head of Arjen Robben going one on one with Iker Casillas. :(

I've only cried once - Galatasaray in 2000, my first cup final loss. Was absolutely devastated at the time.

Liverpool in 2001 and 2008 (CL) was the nearest ive come to shedding a tear again.

Surprisingly didn't feel sad in 06. When the final whistle went in Paris everything went numb and I turned the telly off and went to bed straight away, the whole experience of that game felt like a strange dream.

I was close to tears after the CL final in 06.

When the Scz/Kos cock up happened and Martines scored I felt my eyes go a little watery because I was excited since Ipswich at the Grove and it felt like a kick in the nuts but I just got pissed off and went to get my self some sweet and sour chicken and prawn toast. :barscarf:

Are any of you willing to admit that you wept like a baby when Arsenal have lost? and risk a kicking from a real hard bastard.
Well I am, I have on two occasions in my adult life cried when we have lost.
1. 1998/9 Prem lge final day loss
2. 2001 FA cup final.

Anyone who cries at losing a football match is a complete fanny imo.

I have choked-up a bit only twice in my life at a football match, ever. When we beat Leicester to go a whole season unbeaten. And when Sol scored in Paris. Great moments that I knew I would never see again. Good times.
