It's best to be able and willing to do both. That's waht Barca do and maybe that is why they are the best team in Europe now. Maybe that's why we might have been the best team in 2004 because we were willing to do thatclockendal wrote:Not to back up USMartin here, but if you really think that mate you're crackers ! There's no way any new manager will be coming in and spending 40M on players. And if you say well they'd have to or they wouldn't come, then they won't be coming in anytime soon !mikeyb772001 wrote:I strongly believe that any new manager would only come in if there were transfer funds available to him. It would be suicide if not.
New guy would come in get maybe 40 mil , sell a few players happy days
Job done
anyway this is about a loan keeper haha
Have you heard the things Ivan Gazdis says ? Promoting, developing, retaining and rewarding talent. Spedning money on the current squad as opposed to spening money bringing in talent.
I would say the whole "project" is the club's policy. Not soley Arsene's and not soley the board's. I think they all agree that is the way Arsenal should be run. I'd get used to it if I were you because I don't see it changing.
I think when they moved to the emirates, they intention WAS to spend more on players to move us to the top of the tree. Then Man City came along and blew all the fees out of the water. 40M for Adebayor and Toure ? 22M on Lescott..LESCOT FFS 22M !!!!!!!!! So we maybe had to adapt our policy and try and keep hold of and develop talent as oppose to spend to bring in ? Is it better to try and develop Johan D, or spend 15M on Cahill ?
Now, I am not saying I agree with it. This is just my take on why it's happening.
There is nothing wrong with developing players from within. The problem is sticking with inferior players developed from within or brought in on the bare minimum and not augmenting them with genuine talent from outside the club where and when needed.
Again we have the balance badly wrong and the tipping point of that balance always seems to come down to spending as little as possible regardless of that costing us silverware. This might be fine if we were say West Ham where the chance for silverware is as good as silverware in itself but that should not be acceptable here at Arsenal.
We could but people like you would rather bend over for the Board and let do whatever they desire becaiuse they are their heirs of the past Boards and theirfore keepers of the Arsenal Way which is so precious to you you worship it more than your football team and thus protecting them is more important then the the club itself.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:thats right USM
lets start a petition . together we CAN make a difference
Either that or you just are too lazy to do anything and maybe don't care as muchas you think.
You tell me.

Look, one person won't but many people would. So why don't you want to speak up. If gooners like you who feel as you do stopped going "oh no there's nothing we can do" and stood up with people who want to say how they feel that might just make a difference we both apparently would want it to make.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:martin how many times have I told you? So why are you against that then?

excuse me donald fucking trump I give the board hardly any of my money and joined the black scarf movement . regardless of what you think I have done realistically all I can but some petition with 37 signatures on the internet is going to do FA to overthrow the dictatorship in the boardroom .USMartin wrote:Look, one person won't but many people would. I fear it may be Stuart Taylor.
Could be something to do with his allergy to crosses - jeez even dracula was better with crosses
