Jens & Average weren’t exactly best buddies either were they. Wouldn’t this just heap more pressure on Almunia & increase the likelihood of him dropping a few clangers even more?

Jens will love coming back and displacing Almunshit.
Bit of unfinished business there.

Almunias had his day in the sun as a pro player, it's back to the fields in Spain for him.

Would Wenger be planning to bring him back as 1st choice until Szcz returns though, or to sit on the bench as no more than cover for Almunia? I’d guess the latter personally. So we'd still end up with Almunia in goal, just probably an even less confident Almunia.

Lehmann would probably not return without some assurances about gametime.

Lets think about it realistically, why would Lehmann come out of retirement to sit on the bench with this team behind shite like Almunia.

He has nothing to gain from that. And that is why there are ongoing talks I'd imagine.

If he signs I'd fully expect him to play the game after WBA.

It’s a nice thought IG, having the mad German back.

However he was shit towards the end, and didn’t get on with the clown. I cant see this being a good idea in the slightest.

This is a very fucked up situation and again all the blame goes to Wenger for not signing a keeper when he should of.

Lehman is going to be rusty, and reactions slow. He has been out of football to long and no prem experience for sometime

It’s a joke to be honest, what ever next ffs

He has nothing to lose either.

He is doing a coaching stint as part of his course at the club, so I guess he might feel some obligation - plus a respect for Wenger that means he will do this for 2 months.

I would fully expect him not to play, and sit on the bench - cos after all, he'll probably be learning his coaching shit during the same period.

Fair point. Coaching role longer-term? Either way, the quicker we get Szczesny back the better. Jens isnt the answer as this stage.

He's coming back anyway to do work on his coaching badges.

So two birds with one stone I guess is the thinking....................

He will be rusty, personally in my opinion he should never have left in the first place.

I remember one howler at Blackburn but after two mistakes he was dropped.
How many mistakes have Fabianski/Almunia made in the last 5 years?
40-50 I'd estimate.

Again though honestly I have more confidence in Lehmann than Almunia and tbh that says it all about the Spanish clown.

If this signing happens it is ridiculous.
We are now beginning to see the state of Wenger's mind, a man looking to the past, unaware that time has moved on and unable to cope with the modern day game.
Someone suggested on here recently that Wenger was mentally ill, that statement, now doesn't look too far from the truth.

What?????????????????

Look this would be a bad move no doubt about that but if you think anything other than working withing the financial restrictions almost certainly place has anything to do with this maybe you should not throw around comments about the mental health of others so easily sid
If this is actually being contemplated, then I have no qualms in questioning Wengers state of mind or his sanity.
Even with financial restrictions, (which I am not convinced of, and you, we all know are) surely there is a fitter option available on a loan basis, form either england or abroad.

fair enough, but do you still believe that should he sign, he'll play automatically?
