As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
So I wouldn't be too worried about his fitness. He said he does more training now than before he retired because he wants to stay fit, he plays with a small, local club, occasionally trains with VfB and Arsenal, did a bunch of charity/all star games and does all kinds of other sports.
He was still pretty good in his last two years playing for Stuttgart and certainly way less mistakes than Almunia. You do not just forget how to play after a couple of months or how do goalies who have been out for months with an injury manage to come back in good form after a bit of training? He would only be no 2 and IF Almunia should get injured Lehmann certainly won't be worse than him so relax.
Anyway, I still don't believe the whole thing is true anyway. The Sun might just have a lucky guess.

No that won't happen because fate will decree that Almunia gets injured and we will play a retired 41 year old in goal...adding further glory to our glorious season. Jens was a hero but in his prime prone to daft moments..what chance of that now. ?This is fucking madness.
Quality just what we need to sort the defence out. Seriously
All this talk about the team needing a hero to stand out and make things happen. I think Jens will put a (much needed) rocket up the defences arse if they try any shenanigans. Could you imagine in Lehman was in goal at the barca game, he would have lumped cesc for trying a backpass like that outside the box.
I think this could be a massive blessing in discuise.
