Sad news re Charlie! Charlie!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That really is very sad news indeed. I haven't knowingly met Steve but he sounds exactly like the sort of guy you meet on away trips and have a real laugh with.

It's great that he's got immediate friends and family such as yourselves to be there throughout this difficult time. I can only pass on all my best wishes to all that are closely affected.

The Gooner family, I hope, can provide some strength and comfort. We'll all be thinking of you.

It certainly puts a lot of things into perspective.

All the very best.....SteveO

Same here.
I can't honestly recall being introduced to Charlie X2 but I've not doubt shared laughed with him on a met up with some of the others.

Absolutely tragic news.
My thoughts and prayers are with Steve and his family during this moment in time.

so sorry to hear this news , my thoughts are with all that care about him.
Puts a lot of lifes concerns into context. I hope that there is some sort of miracle. Taking the scarf was a great thing to do.

Although there are a lot of divisions on this forum at a time like this we are all Arsenal together.

Unfortunately he has suffered a massive tumour on the brain and Tuesday they operated and removed 70% but have confirmed this afternoon that it is too aggresive, he is in intensive care as i type.
They confirmed that even if a miracle happens and he comes round he wouldnt survive longer than 6 months max.
I am meeting his Dad and sister up the hospital tomorrow which is when i beleive the decision will be taken to turn off his life support machine.
I have tears streaming down my face as i type this as he is my best mate of over 20 years, i am absolutely devastated.
seeing him laying there with tubes in his mouth and nose was the hardest thing i have ever witnessed and will never leave me.
I will come on here with an update over the next day or so, but please spare a thought for the big man tonight

That is Truly Sad..I'm really saddened to hear that.....My thoughts and Prayers are with Him and his Family and Love Ones. :( :( :(

Very sad news, met him once after the gooner versus mackem game and had a pint with him and percy, sort of bloke you would gladly drink all night with, top man.

Thoughts are with him, his family and friends.
