Sad news re Charlie! Charlie!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sorry but I have no experience in this thing but point me in the right direction and I can do anything. King Jason you said you could do it, then please do and let us all know how we can contribute.
Maybe Gooner.Ed,or Rob.Admin could help.

aye, that would work just fine i reckon!

this surely deserves its own thread :?:

Shocked at this sad news.

I did not know him personally but you feel like you know people on here even if you have not met them.

My condolences go to his family and friends.

The stones look great and would be a fantastic tribute to someone who contributed so much to this forum and who was as Arsenal as they come!

Obviously if someone has a paypal acount that can be used great.

I think Scott (OMM) should help to decide the wording.

Thanks to everyone who is willing to help with a fantastic tribute to Steve.

The brick idea is great. Happy to chip in.

I have a feeling plenty of money will be gladly given. Probably enough for a dozen bricks. Suggest any surplus be given to Steve's family. Or donated to charity. Whatever they decide. Plenty of time to think about that. But lets start a collection as soon as possible.

Keep your chin up, Mutley. And you too Percy (and Doris). And to OneMoreMinute....I would like to say that you sound like the the kind of friend that we should all have one of.

This is an emotional day. Even for people who didn't know Steve (he was just CharlieCharlie to us). So I have decided to forget my no-drinking-during-the-week policy. And have more-than-a-few lagers in Steve's honour.

Sincere sympathies to charlie's family and friends at this very tough time :(
Even though omm told us yesterday how serious the situation was you somehow still expect him to pull through and it is tragic and really sad that any man that young is taken from his family and friends like that

I will also add that I too am 100% behind the idea of a donation kitty from us all on the Online Gooner Forum 8) If we are really serious about this can somebody please get it up and running straight away cos too often we talk about doing things but never actually follow through and this is something that we really need to follow through on. When it is up and running can we start a new thread giving the details or else can someone pm me please

Sorry to log on this evening and read the tragic news that CharlieCharlie is no longer with us. Once again my thoughts go out to all of his friends and family and hope that those gooners who were close to him can stay strong for his wife and kids.

With regards to an armoury stone although I didnt know him personally I would be happy to put in. Would probably be best if one of his friends from this site could start up a new paypal account so that they recieve the money for the purchase and then could also liaise with Steves family with regards to the wording. Also agree with Augies request of making a new thread and a sticky so as details dont get confused in this one.

RIP CharlieCharlie - your gooner friends will always remember who you are, what you are and who you represent.

All,

Just been talking to Scott/OMM and he agrees the tribute stone is a fantastic idea and that the £395 'proper' Arsenal one is very befitting. Wayno/Mutley also thinks this would be a wonderful idea.

I don't know how money will come in from you guys right now but there will be something arranged by better people than me.

If someone can do the nitty gritty with the Paypal stuff we will more than chip in.

It has really helped being on here tonight, i am overwhelmed by all your support and messages.
Steve had just started playing for our local veterans football team and roped me into signing on for the new season, he was even made skipper!

We have decided to have a memorial game before the season starts where we will 'retire' his shirt and have a fund raising day of which we will donate all proceeds to the family, maybe in a trust fund for the girls

Once again, thank you all for being here, it means so much and has helped me personally deal with the absolute pain im going through.

Steve/Wayno

I dont need to say anything to you two other than what has been said
