Absolutely shocking news. I can't really add anything that someone else hasn't already said. My thoughts are with OMM, Percy, Wayno and, most of all, Steve's family.
The brick idea is a fantastic idea. A really appropriate communal gesture for a man who, although most of us didn't know him personally, contributed significantly to this forum. The stories from Percy and OMM are heartbreaking but comforting in that they have allowed us all to get to know such an obviously cracking bloke like Steve a little bit better.
Echoing Augie's comments, get the brick fund set up. I'll definitely contribute a few bob.
Rest in peace Steve.

When you are feeling up to it OMM, or if you have someone else you'd like to designate with the responsibility, make a Pay Pal account (www.paypal.co.uk)onemoreminute wrote:It has really helped being on here tonight, i am overwhelmed by all your support and messages.
Steve had just started playing for our local veterans football team and roped me into signing on for the new season, he was even made skipper!
We have decided to have a memorial game before the season starts where we will 'retire' his shirt and have a fund raising day of which we will donate all proceeds to the family, maybe in a trust fund for the girls
Once again, thank you all for being here, it means so much and has helped me personally deal with the absolute pain im going through.
Steve/Wayno
I dont need to say anything to you two other than what has been said
Then, we can simply donate by using the email address you use to set up the account. Donors do not need an account but can use their existing PayPal account. Be sure to select Personal > Gift.
Donation link, click me - CANADA/USA
Donation link, click me - UNITED KINGDOM
Other regions, click: this.
That is my understanding of the easiest way to go about doing this, and it will leave OMM (or the delegate) in charge of the funds.
Hope this helps.
Good work mate. As someone mentioned a few pages back we should make a seperate thread for donations when the time is right.Barriecuda wrote:When you are feeling up to it OMM, or if you have someone else you'd like to designate with the responsibility, make a Pay Pal account (www.paypal.co.uk)onemoreminute wrote:It has really helped being on here tonight, i am overwhelmed by all your support and messages.

It's easy to set up a paypal account. Here is a (hopefully) helpful link....Percy Dalton wrote:All,
Just been talking to Scott/OMM and he agrees the tribute stone is a fantastic idea and that the £395 'proper' Arsenal one is very befitting. Wayno/Mutley also thinks this would be a wonderful idea.
I don't know how money will come in from you guys right now but there will be something arranged by better people than me.
If someone can do the nitty gritty with the Paypal stuff we will more than chip in.
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/websc ... 698ea9bfbc
Kingjason has kindly offered to sort it. I'd be happy with that. Although I reckon somebody closer to Steve and his friends and family ought to be involved, too.
If somebody could open up a "basic" bank account for these donations, then the money could be paid in via Paypal/internet banking/cheque/cash. All we need to know is the account name + bank sort code + bank account number.
If everyone wants to donate the funds to my Paypal account I don't mind sorting it out, least I can do.
Email address to send funds to is; [email protected].
Be sure to send it as a gift payment so we don't pay fees and can put more towards the flowers/armoury brick.
Just a note to add, as Olgit says I'll get the funds together and then we can decide with Percy, OMM and his friends on what they would like us to do.
I'll start another thread so that it will be clearer for people.

I have to say this.......
today is a tragic day for many people. Most of all for the ones who were close to Steve. But also, to a lesser degree, those of us who knew CharlieCharlie from these pages.
So. Although today is very, very sad......it's actually quite heartwarming.
We are all connected through our love/obsession of a football club.
We have all made friends who would not otherwise have met.
We are all members of the same "tribe".
This is good.
And it kind of re-establishes my faith in human nature.
