Sad news re Charlie! Charlie!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

RIP, no one deserves to go due to cancer. But at least you don't need to suffer anymore :(

Christ, absolutely gutted to hear about this. Cant really add much to the great tributes as like many I never met him personally, but I think the fact that the man his mates who knew him well have described is exactly the same as those who only met him once or twice & exactly the same as he came across to those who only read his posts on here speaks volumes about the sincerity of the guy. No (h)airs & graces, just a genuine top bloke.

Deepest condolences to his family & friends. OMM, you were clearly a great mate to the end, thanks for reminding me to appreciate the really true friends in my own life. I wouldn't be surprised if Charlie’s up there now telling everyone how you got knocked out by a bird!

I haven't been on her much recently so have just read this tragic news. My thoughts are with Steve and his family and friends. I never met him but exchanged posts and few pms and he seemed like a lovely bloke and valued member of the forum. Certainly puts everything with Arsenal into perspective but its nice that in these times, our mutual love for the club brings great people into our lives, in whatever form. RIP Charlie! Charlie! You will be missed.

R.I.P Steve

I am sad to hear this news. I didn't know Steve personally, only some pms, but he was a gent to deal with, and seemed to be just a very nice, decent man.

I will keep his family and friends in my thoughts.

I am totally stunned by the posts on here and what everybody has said.

One day on and the pain is still so raw and i know later tonight after a few more beers i will read all the posts again and wont be able to stop crying all night.

What a truly remarkable set of people you all are and if i get the chance next season i would love to thank you all in person

I will post on the donations thread shortly, i have just got off the phone to Percy and told him i cannot believe everyones input to this, you all are a cut above the rest xx

I have no date for the funeral yet or location but i will post on here as soon as i know

N5 in our hearts

RIP Steve.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him but I would be more than happy to donate some money. Take care OMM. Thinking of you and Steve's family.
