Ancelotti sacked
Think a few are missing the point here.
This sums Chelski up. They are not a proper club. They are governed by a spoilt chairman who has to have everything now.
Record breaking manager last year to the sack this year. They are a joke.
No way would I want Arsenal to operate in this way.
Yes we need to start to speculate to accumulate but the day we try to achieve success like this lot is the day I say bye bye.
They may win the odd pot occasionally but Chelsea in true football terms are a laughing stock.
Feel relieved that you support the Arsenal.

Lets not go overboard here. Yes Wenger by all rights should leave the club, but we should be glad we dont operate the way Chelsea do. That isnt ambition, it's just stupidity.
Ancelotti is a very very good manager, and none of the replacements mentioned are as good.
I hope he does take another job in England. QPR with their Italian links may be keen.

Ancelotti is not that good of a manager.Irish Gooner wrote:Lets not go overboard here. Yes Wenger by all rights should leave the club, but we should be glad we dont operate the way Chelsea do. That isnt ambition, it's just stupidity.

They've finished on 71 points this season, which for them is atrocious as they've been used to 80+ over the last few seasons.
Their squad is too good to end up trophyless, and since they did, the buck stops with the manager and hence he's been sacked.
It's called ambition and not settling for anything other than the very top.

At the end of day, we're led to believe the owner is signing players ie Torres and asking for them to be played.1989 wrote:Ancelotti is not that good of a manager.Irish Gooner wrote:Lets not go overboard here. Yes they underperformed this season. You dont win trophies every year.
You do not sack managers regularly. It never has worked and never will. Going by some peoples opinions here, Ferguson would have been sacked a few years ago when they went two years with out a trophy despite spending big.
It doesnt matter what Chelsea are used to. They better get used to winning fuck all again if this is their attitude.
Ancelloti has won the double in England, titles with AC Milan, 2 Champions Leagues. He's no mug and is a far better manager than most working under difficult circumstances.
He's not shite like Avram Grant or Martin O'Neill, thats for sure. He's one of Chelseas most successful managers and a good man, and if 75m wasnt spunked by the owner in January I'm not sure most would be slamming him.

They'll get Villas-Boas and sweep up all before them next season.
Ancelotti is a good manager as you say, but I've never regarded him as one of the top, world class managers.
Still, it really puts into perspective how fucking good Wenger has it at Arsenal doesn't it? When a two time CL winner gets sacked after his first trophyless year.

Villa Boas will be a top manager soon, but I still dont think if they get him, which they probably wont, that they will win much more next season.1989 wrote:They'll get Villas-Boas and sweep up all before them next season.![]()

It takes foreign managers time to settle in here especially if they are outspoken, the old boys brigade usually bully them (wenger, benitez, houiller etc).

I think this is just fucking stupid. He wins them their first double one year and is sacked because they only finished 2nd the following year? Where does it stop? How many top level managers does the spoiled brat Russian Gangster go through before he actually runs out of names?
No, for me a manager must be given time to succeed. Time to build a team and develop it. There is a huge difference between Ancelotti and Wenger. Wenger has been given that time and fair play to our board they gave him the time (no matter what anyone might believe their motivation actually is). Ancelotti was not given the time. Ridiculous. That is not ambition, it is foolhardy and the act of a spoiled child who care nothing for the long term health of his club but rather wants instant success before he gets bored and discards them.
But of course there has to be a balance. There is such a thing as too much time. As I say, Wenger has been given the time, but now it is up as far as I’m concerned and he needs to go.

This is the trouble when you get an owner with that fatal mix of extreme wealth and extreme arrogance. Ancelotti didn't deserve too much credit for winning the double last season, but FFS his track record deserves more than a season in charge! If Mourinho had stayed then Chelsea would have won the CL by now. If they change Managers every season or two then guaranteed they'll have to make do with picking up the scraps that United leave for them......TeeCee wrote:I'm not in favour of sacking a manager after one 'bad' season at all but on the other hand, Abramovich wants to stop the rot and has ambition to get Chelsea back to winning things. What a contrast to Arsenal Football Club, where the only ambition is to turn a profit? Any other manager would be knocking at the Chairmans door saying he needs funds to get the team back to winning trophies. Not Wenger, he sees his role as chief finance officer as well as everything else at the club.![]()
Ferguson, Chapman and Wenger would have all been sacked before winning trophies if the Abramovitch model had been followed.....
