Mistake on Arsenal.com

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I can just imagine someone at the club taking the credit for your astute spot, perhaps that's why you haven't got the credit you deserve, it's a sad state of affairs thats happening at our once great club.
I remember when I was 11 I wrote a letter to MY Club asking if it was at all possible for me to purchase a Liam Brady shirt, as he was my favourite player, and I had saved up my pocket money, etc., etc ( I was a sad *word censored* even then ), and got a brilliant letter back from Mr Terry Neill saying that it was not possible for The Arsenal to sell Liam's shirt, as he needed it, but they sent me a whole parcel full of stuff, from signed ( printed ) photos of the squad to a couple of badges, the Arsenal Handbook ( which I already had ) and a satin (?) scarf.

I was on Cloud 9 for years, and made me respect and love my Club all the more.

I will admit I am a bit anal about my Club, and as I said in the original thread I have been to see where The Arsenal played it's first games, and been to 'find' the old Manor Ground and Invicta Grounds, and I couldn't believe that the Official History on Arse.com was wrong.

No big deal if you don't give a shit about your 'job', I guess, but I just can't believe that such a mistake would be there,on the Official Site, and I take your point that some little bastard there is probably taking the credit for it.

Good Luck to him, I guess, hope he bloody chokes on it.

I would have thought that picking up on such a major error as that - especially when the club is promoting an anniversary - and thus saving the club embarrassment in the long run deserves just a little more than a formal thank-you.

By the way, well done Babu 8) - from all genuine Arsenal fans that do care about the club and it's history pre-1996!! :barscarf:

I wanted a biscuit!

TBF it's no big deal ( obviously ), and my Missus calling me a tosser pretty much sorted out any pre-conceived notions of an all-expenses holiday going to see the pre-season tour in Asia as thanks, but the...

Dear Babu,

you sad, sad anorak,

Thank you for your email and information.

I have no idea if this probably totally irrelevant e-mail is anything important or not, but...errr..better stay polite with people like you, you never know, some right bloody nutters out there, so I'm going to acknowledge that you sent us some 'information', although it's more than likely going to be totally insane ramblings, like usual.

We get a lot of that you know, you *word censored* pussy.

It has been passed on to the relevant department.

I am giving it to the work experience bloke who will google for a bit and see if you're a total looney-tune or not.

And I'm OK with that, totally.

But when they found that they had made a mistake on the website I would have expected a...

Dear Babu,

thank you for your info, it was correct, you're not a complete and utter loser, although you are pretty close. Get out more, maybe try and find a girl-friend.

Yours sincerely,

Elaine Sigrist.

Backroom Staff

Post by Herd »

If your wondering why the staff at Arsenal are complete cunz you should be aware of the old adage ."If you pay peanuts your get monkeys"
I've known more than a few that have worked for the Arsenal and lets just say that unless you are Gazidis n Co you wont be getting a very high wage.
Many in the Box Office were said to have subsidised their meager wages by knocking out tickets for premiums not to mention the old duplicate season scam that operated for many years at Highbury .
And Guess whose in charge of the whole lot of the back room staff the wonderful XXXXX (deleted by DB10GOONER) who is a wonderful generous man loved by all and not at all a corrupt tyrant as some misinformed people have suggested !
No wonder they named a bridge after him.

Herd, mate seriously - you cannot name him in relation to unproved allegations - DB10GOONER

DB Seriously pleased read what I said ie "he was a wonderful generous man loved by all." AND NOT AL ALL ....................ETC ETC .
Similarly my comments on Fizman whilst they may cause offense to some cannot lead to any action of any sort because u cannot be sued for libel or slander by a dead person.

I do however fully understand the forums fears about another action from mad people who might try n get u closed down which is why i was a tad more cautious .

Chill !
