HANGZHOU GREENTOWN OFFICIAL THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

In my opinion, the problem isn't so much personnel, it's the way they're coached. It's hard to judge because you can't quite put your finger on what exactly is wrong, but it seems like bad decisions are made - a lot. There's always one player who forgets to squeeze up when they're trying to play offside or there's always one player napping when a free kick comes in.

The defence needs organising and I'm not sure Wenger is the one to do it. He's not going anywhere until the end of his contract (sorry, but it's true) so the only thing I can think of is getting some kind of defensive coach.
I agree on Vermaelen! Koscielny, while not bad, is not ready to be in the first XI. Playing Cahill or Samba alongside big Tom + replacing Clichy is a must in my opinion!
Possibly, but I'd hope that our international scouting system would be able to identify two better players than Cahill or Samba. Just because the papers keep saying Cahill and Samba (based on no real information at all), doesn't mean that that's what we need to settle for. Remember, Man Utd spent £16 million on Phil Jones. If Cahill or Samba were that good you'd expect United to by first in the queue, wouldn't you? As it stands, there doesn't really seem to be interest from anyone else yet (again, according to paper talk).
Samba or Cahill might not be all that but at least they would be reliable additions ready for the PL. And our international scouting system has not be that efficient in the last few years, has it?
Anyway, I'm no football manager. Let's enjoy the 2nd half!
Subotic from Dortmund would be a far better signing in my humble opinion.
How dare you have an opinion - humble or otherwise. I bet you haven't even worked half a day in football ?

I've heard people talking about him yeah but then again I've got limited knowledge of European football!

Makes the interview he gave today about wanting to play as a striker even more farcical. 2 simple chances and he hadn't a clue what to do.

Good luck with that. My understanding is that he probably won't get a work permit.

I'm looking forward to seeing Wilshere. And Ramsey. And Gibbs will be interesting if we don't replace Clichy. And Gervinho will be interesting as he's our major signing so far. And Van Persie, if he can stay fit and keep scoring. And Vermaelen.

And yes...Ryo too (depending on him getting a work permit that is!)
