LF21 had a good season last year pre-injury. I'd feel... okay with him behind WS13. Certainly would hope that LF is second though, not the Clown. I'd feel a LOT better with a proper keeper ahead of, or behind, Chezzer. But if I had to deal with LF as a backup I think I could manage. I may eat these words.
:banghead: :banghead: and who the fuck is LOT? :banghead:

How about Ben Foster of relegated Brum, I think he would be good cover and competition for Sczezeny and available at a decent fee?
You have a go at Schwarzer then say we should sign a keeper who got relegated.Ask youself this would Fergie sell him if he was any good

Again wenger has only himself to blame because if he now replaces ws as number one, he'll leave because he's tasted first team football. We should have signed a number one last season and sent ws on loan to a premier league club.

For me, the best keeper available is stekelenberg although I heard he was signing for roma. He would have definitely signed for us for a reasonable price. A world class keeper saves 9 points a season. Ws isn't world class yet and will make mistakes. Imo he shouldn't be learning his trade in the first team

I agree that Schwarzer would be better cover than Flappy, Mannone or Almunia but I think Foster is a far superior keeper. Also his age and the fact he's English would be positive factors in comparision of the two.

I'm sure that if Schwarzer had been in goal for Brum last season they would've still gone down regardless.

Fergie sold Foster but also bought him, not sure your point there?

think foster wants to play week in week out.

But it says something about him when he openly admitted the pressure was too much at utd.

Also considering arsenal's history of keepers recently, he will be scrutinised and we dont need anymore weak minded players.

Having said that foster has top quality ability, sadly he may just lack the bottle to play at a big club.

Not having a go at you Donaldo, but Schwarzer is a mistake waiting to happen. I was one of the few that were hoping that Wenger didn't buy him last season. He's well past his sell by date and even though we haven't spent money on buying anyone better, we certainly haven't bought anyone worse. If(and I doubt it's AW priority) we going to sign a 'keeper, I think the best value for money would be Stekelenberg.
Not a common opinion, but I think Given is also over-rated atm.

Lehmann was a fucking calamity of a keeper.

I could not disagree with this more.

We did not lose any of the first FORTY SEVEN League games that he played in.

Lehmann was a great keeper, and we got his best years ; A few high profile mistakes, but name one keeper who hasn't made those.

Personally, I don't think we need a new keeper, as I'm convinced that Szcezsny has the magic eye, and he will be number one for the next 15 - 20 years.

Hopefully Al Clown is off next week, so it's probably Flappy at Nbr 2, would be good to get some proper cover. Still whether Cesc leaves or not, word from BOD is that it's £40-45M total spend Inc of wages....!

I damn well hope if Cesc goes that those funds are available to Le Boss>>>

Isn't Shez exactly like De Gea? Least Shez has played in the Prem. Tbh I don't think he did much wrong last year, he's a fantastic GK and will go on to be even better.

I would have liked Friedel, thats the one we should have gone after. Free transfer. He went to the scum though.

Lehmann was a liability. Fuck ups aside, and boy o boy there were a lot of them, shit distribution aside, it was his suspect temprement that I could never warm to.

You could be sure each opposition team talk would have had time allocated to the best way to get at the Arsenal goalkeeper. Stand on his toes, block his path, elbow him in the ribs.

I guarantee most teams wouldn't have allocated as much time to this had he not been such a fucking loon. Unbeaten games were not because of him, they were in spite of him.

Put that keeper in this current squad and we'd be no better.

Put Seaman in the current squad and they'd be better off by about 9 points.
