Emirates Cup Paper Tickets

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Plastics day out so no protests as far as I know fella.

Me and Jayson are going together, think we shall have to get blind drunk to make it worthwhile
 hope you manage to make the most of it! Can you clear up exactly what the protests/ anger is about then, just I've seen some people say the anger is at Wenger's refusal to sign the players that you so obviously need, some people suggest its just the general direction the club is taking (becoming more and more corporate, not giving a shit about the fans etc) and still others saying that its the price rise that has pissed them off. Just wondering if the protests are likely to be aimed at all 3 things (obviously the price rise is linked to the club becoming more corporate) or if it is going to focus on just one of them?

If the protest is mainly about Wenger not strengthening then I'd assume the time to protest is when this season falls by the wayside, but if its about the financial aspect (or a combination of all 3), then I'd have thought the protests would pretty much start straight away and, if they did, it would be interesting to see if they'd disappear if 2 or 3 big signings were brought in or whether the gripe about prices and the "PLC" thing would be enough to keep the protests going

this ×1000. seriously fuck wenger, we need to sort out Hill Wood and Gazidis first . The way they've treated the loyal fans who feed them they're 3m per matchday is disgusting

not a plastics day, an afc wozza's day...i.e. jcl's who really dont care about the club itself just the players manager they know.

sums it up really.

I wouldn't be going but my 10 year old godson wanted to see Thierry Henry and I only have the one membership hence the paper ticket for his entrance.

Once the mexican waves and the choruses of One Arsene Wenger start I will probably be close to suicide.

Sums up our Club. The only reason NYRB were invited was because they knew thousands of youngsters would want to see him, and would blackmail their relatives into paying for them to go.

Sickening.

The protest at the Villa game was about the disenfranchisement of the BSM and the plastic, no-you-can't-swear-or-stand-up shit, antiseptic bollocks we have on a matchday. Turned out as an anti-board protest mind!

If no money is spent, or not money commensurate with players out/players needed/our financial health, there will be protests aimed at the Board, with an element at Wenger and Wenger believed partly or largely responsible by the majority.

Also why are some hating Gazidis already? His job is one where you only see results long-term, and was anyone really expecting him to say something interesting at the AST thing? He's only been here what a year and a half, two years at most, not like he's failed to deliver for six!

True. Saw an ad in the Metro this morning that I hadn't seen before. The 'Subbuteo Henry' pulled forward to the front of the ad with the copy tag-line something like 'Henry: See him come alive'.

We are really plumbing the depths here and that ad pissed me off. Using a past star, now at a different club, to attract people to come to a tournament held at our own home ground is just embarrassing and insulting.

Yes, something mentioned in a meeting with the supporters trust...may be the last one, cos of poor ticket sales.

If that's the case, then fucking great.
